I can't stand it! I am almost 4 weeks post op and I started feeling itchy a couple weeks ago but last night it has become almost unbearable. I took Benadryl, applied calamine....it's all over my stomach and lower back. Is has to be from the surgery cause I never had this problem before!!

Anyone out there having this experience? I have my 2 follow up on Tuesday so I plan on talking to my doc about it but any ideas a would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

whey allergy or Vitamin deficiency. Contact your doctor ASAP or go to emergency. An allergy can turn worse quickly.

I agree with Misty. I had the itchies in hospital, and knew it was the pain Rx, (but I DID like that pain Rx). But it went away. It does sound like a reaction to food or medicine or suppliment...

I will go to urgent care in the morning.

Thank you for the advise. I'm going to stop the whey Protein and see if maybe it is an allergy to it. I'm not on pain meds anymore so I don't think it's that. I have been able to increase the amount of Protein shakes, I was having a difficult time getting in my Protein til this week so maybe it just might be the whey?

Thanks everyone for the help :)

You can try other Proteins like egg or pea. If it is whey allergy, talk to your dietitian about alternatives.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
