I am sooooo ITCHY

I can't stand it! I am almost 4 weeks post op and I started feeling itchy a couple weeks ago but last night it has become almost unbearable. I took Benadryl, applied calamine....it's all over my stomach and lower back. Is has to be from the surgery cause I never had this problem before!!

Anyone out there having this experience? I have my 2 follow up on Tuesday so I plan on talking to my doc about it but any ideas a would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I agree with Misty. I had the itchies in hospital, and knew it was the pain Rx, (but I DID like that pain Rx). But it went away. It does sound like a reaction to food or medicine or suppliment...

I will go to urgent care in the morning.

Thank you for the advise. I'm going to stop the whey Protein and see if maybe it is an allergy to it. I'm not on pain meds anymore so I don't think it's that. I have been able to increase the amount of Protein shakes, I was having a difficult time getting in my protein til this week so maybe it just might be the whey?

Thanks everyone for the help :)

You can try other Proteins like egg or pea. If it is whey allergy, talk to your dietitian about alternatives.
