Tmi alert.....

Ever since being sleeved in december my bm schedule has completely changed. Preop I would go 2, sometimes 3 times a day. Now I seem to go about every 5 days or so. And when I do go it's a lot. Like so much that I keep clogging potty's. Sorry this is embarrassing.....

But what can I take to help go more often.

Any advice would be great. I never had this problem before surgery so I'm not sure what to do.

I take Colase 1-3 times a day. Usually just once though in the evening.

I'm only 2 weeks post op, but if it's more than a day or two I've been taking some miralax... And it helps a lot

Fiber can help. I got the Phillips Gummy Fiber chews. Also I was told to put 2 TBS of mineral oil in my shake every a.m. The manager in my doctor's office is 3 years out and she told me the Dr. gave her this advice. She said she is regular every day. I had a horrible time of it today. Had to drink magnesium citrate. Plus the pain of trying to get the initial flow going had me sweating and in tears,

I agree with the Miralax. It mixes with anything and is tasteless.

I am almost a year out now and I still get Constipated very easily and quickly. I take a stool softener every other day just to make sure I don't get backed up. I let myself do that once and I never will again!! It was horrible!!! Try collace or a mild laxative just to keep the flow going.

Fiber will help, and its a lot better for you than laxatives. Try a couple of fiber chews a day or every few days maybe. just beware atopping them abruptly can cause rebound Constipation.< /p>

Increase your fiber with fiber gummies like Phillips or Metamucil free and Clear it dissolves completely and is tasteless I swear.I add 1tsp 2-3 times a day to my drink the first dose is in my coffee and the second is in whatever I drink next.I am have been doing this since a few weeks after surgery in November and it helps:)

I use an all natural supplement everyday. It works great and keeps things moving without the drastic ups and downs that you can get with miralax. I open the capsules and sprinkle them into my Protein Shake every morning. By the evening, I'm usually all good. Helps with the acid in my Tum Tum as well.

Are you taking Iron supplements? I was taking iron that was NOT supposed to cause Constipation -- but it did. So I have switched to Feosol, a plant-based iron. And I take it only every 3 days. That helps. I also added in an evening stool softener. Things are returning to normal.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
