I feel like recovery is going too good ...

Recommended Posts

I'm only 3 days post op and I feel great . I left the hospital the night after my surgery , I haven't had to take any pain meds . I was nauseous from the long car ride home but that's honestly the worst that's happened (knock on wood) I can walk, lay down , sit up fine . I took a shower with no problem today . It just all seems too good to be true . I'm very grateful .

The only strange thing to me is my legs and arms get really tingly , like if I'm sitting with one Indian style and the other off the bed , my whole leg tingles , or if I'm on my phone laying down for a long time , my arm tingles . Is this a serious issue ?

I don't know about the tingling... you may better talk with your surgeon about that... but congrats on having a good recovery... mine was relatively smooth...

No idea about the tingling but I'm glad it's a smooth recovery so far!

Hi you may want to be extra careful.. Talk with your surgent to make sure a blood clot isn't trying to form!

I had the same kind of recovery. No pain, no nausea, no vomiting. Went out shopping with my sister 2 days after surgery. Moved real slow, Took a lot of naps, but that's about it.

Tingling? Are you taking Vit B12? My mother had a problem with tingling in hands and feet. Turned out it was B12 deficiency. Might we worth looking into.

Awe yay I'm glad :) I feel so bad for those who have the complications afterwards , it's a hard enough choice as it is .

Also ! That's what I'm nervous about , my doctor or nut has not said anything to me about Vitamins or Protein ! I feel like everyone is starting Protein ASAP and here I am , only told to be on Clear liquids , Even after calling to clarify . I had assumed that it would be brought up this Thursday at the follow up appointment

Hey there. Great to hear your feeling so great. I too felt great no complications. I was on clear liquids for 7 days days after surgery. On the 8th day I started my Protein shakes. Started Vitamins if I remember correctly when I went on mushy food which was about 3- 4 weeks after surgery. B12, multi Vitamin chewable, Calcium with Vitamin D chewable. Feel great. Lost 53 lbs in 11 weeks. Struggle to get all my protein in. But still working on it. Good luck on your journey.

Yea, I had tingling tiredness in my left arm where I had my iv, not sure what it was but since starting B12 its gone. You need a professional. Opinion to make sure it's not serious though.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
