OMG! I enjoyed everyone's posts. I think we all know some skinny person or two who like to complain about how thin they are. It's usually very obvious that they are attention-seeking and are, as my mother used to say, "fishing for compliments." Next time you hear someone try to draw out those compliments, just say, "Oh it must be so awful! I feel so bad for you! You just can't gain any curves, can you?"

My dream is that someday somebody will say that to me lol.

I don't agree w some of you just because there skinny don't think they dont worry about weight gain ... You all feel the need to think its something else you do have skinny ppl that worry just because the see fat ppl and that the reality but it's hard to put yourself in their shoes because some use aren't there yet but I've been called skinny I worry about my weight but a person that doesn't kno me would think other wise because I'm skinny I think we should be mindful of others we hate when stereo type us for being fat and we do it to skinny ppl for being skinny

Skinny people definitely have insecurities and such too. Everyone does...it's the complaining about things they i have dubbed "non-issues". You know if you have a weight problem or not. My issue is...if you don't have a weight problem quit acting like you do!!

I definitely agree with the fishing for compliments statement because after the girl said what she had to say...everyone was all "oh not that you had 10 pounds to loose" "I wish I was like you" and "u look great stop complaining"... So maybe it's her need for reassurance that he's thin...hmm thought provoking lol

Skinny is not equal to happiness. I have a friend who struggles, really struggles, to gain any weight. She got sick and her weight dropped dangerously low. She is a type one insulin dependant diabetic so it isn't as simple as just eating some pies for her. Gaining weight is hard work, losing any is frightening, and I have learnt to have some compassion for her rather than being envious of her pants size.

Sometimes we can be so focused on our own troubles and struggles that we forget that skinny on its own is not a sole indicator of good health or happiness.

Just as people look at me and think I am lazy and unhealthy - I know that I look at thin people with envy, and I bet a lot of them are lazy and unhealthy too. But still - the ex-daughter in law who kept a perfect house and grazed on bad food all day - I can't help but be a little hatee on her - she reminds me of the perfect Stepford Moms at my kids school!!

Non issue to heavier ppl because this person complain about weight problems but. In her eye might just feel that way .. Fishing for compliments while as women we all do that nothing wrong w it .. Just because wewould trade places with a smaller person because we are bigger doesn't not make her issue valid just because we see her in duck a way doesn't mean she does so just think about that ..

I am hoping everyone is keeping it light hearted! We all know that skinny people have issues too. Lawd...I think the original poster meant this to be lighthearted. I know I did. No need to get preachy about how skinny people have issues too. No matter what someone says....if you have been or are a fat girl...you know you have made a skinny beotch comment. Just saying!

I don't have a weight problem anymore..160 pounds down since my sleeve 15 months ago. I'm a skinny b***h that is terrified to gain weight...but in my eyes I still see myself as that other person. My body lost the weight quicker than my mind could keep up. When you have your sleeve give it a few months and you will understand :)

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
