You look wonderful! We are the same height so your progress is definitely aspirational (and inspirational!) for me. Keep up the great work and keep the faith...I know that you will! :-)

Looking hot and bikini ready! Congrats! Do you mind if I ask your before and current sizes to give me even more perspective?

In the before pic, I was wearing a size 26/28 from Igigi. The after pic is a XL dress from Marshalls. :) The bikini might have to wait until after my nip and tuck lol!!

I am officially 13 months out' date=' and the scale will NOT budge. Actually it did last week. It went up a pound!!!! I just about had a heart attack lol!!

Toady I decided to remind myself what this journey is all about. I needed a reminder of what I have accomplished thus far. I need to keep a positive outlook, I need to stay focus and stay away from the scale :)[/quote']

You are beautiful, keep up the good work..

You are correct, go to the camera is a great idea!! And, I can see that you don't need to 'look' very far to see how 'far' you've come!! You look amazing, so pretty!! Congrats, and you've reminded me to do the same when I lose so slow each month now.

You are looking fabulous! Here is an example of why you should not look at the scales. My son and his friend are both 14... Both are 5'11" and both are 175 pounds. However my son works out doing mma and is in a lean size 32 pants where his friend who does not work out is in a size 36 pants. My son didn't understand how they weigh the same amount, and are the same height but his friend is so much bigger around. Muscle, while it weighs the same amount as fat, takes up less then half the actual volume as fat does.

My point is that while the scale may not be moving your body may be exchanging fat for muscle and therefor the scale may not move, but your size will still get smaller, and you will appear thinner. So when you are feeling discouraged it is a good idea to measure yourself, and pay attention to how your clothes fit. Good luck girl! You are looking amazing! :)

Thanx for wording this so accurately!! We see so many say "Muscle weighs more than fat", when it actually doesn't, a pound is a pound whether it be feathers or muscle or fat or coins. Kudos to you!!

Obviously you are correct about a pound being a pound. However, that isn't really the comparison that is being made when someone says muscle weighs more than fat. What that phrase is a shortcut for is "Given the same volume of muscle and fat, muscle weighs more than fat," or a more succinct way of putting it is "muscle is denser than fat."

It's not about comparing a pound to a pound and saying it weighs the same. It is about saying that given the same weight of two things (I.e., 1 lb of muscle and 1 lb of fat) one will occupy less space than the other - the denser material, muscle, will appear smaller than the les dense material, fat.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
