Recommended Posts

My surgery was Sept 6. I have had no problems! Never even thrown up. I feel fantastic. I have 2 friends that had the same surgeon etc and they have had no problems either. Just follow drs orders and hopefully your experience will be as pleasant as mine :)

I had my surgery 5/16/13. I also ended up having a hernia repair unexpected. Who knew! I took pain meds for 4 days. Took off work for 10 days. I feel great. No problems so far. I can't imagine something popping up all of a sudden. I have lost 29 pounds So far. I have absolutely no regrets what's so ever.

It depends on how you define a problem. Sure, I have slimed a lot, got acid reflux a couple times and thrown up a few times. But are these really problems? No!!! They are blips on the radar compared with radiant health, great strength and athletic ability the comes from living a life full of drive and passion as a post op. There is no goal that is too large. Consider the problems pre op I had before with morbid obesity: high blood pressure, prediabetic, mental issues, constant battle with food, lack of exercise, no self confidence and the list goes on and on. I have been problem free for the most part. I wish the best and quick recovery for those dealing with problems like leak, gall bladder issues, bad acid reflux and so on.

Almost 4 months out and haven't had any negatives to talk about. I function exactly the way I did before surgery, just much, much less. Havent had a sinhle stumbling block other than a stall or two. No vomiting, no having to get used to eating certsin foods. Nothing. I love my sleeve! 43 lbs down, 28 to go!

I'm 6 months out and 145 lbs down. I've had a little Constipation -- otherwise, I haven't had any issues and I definitely have no regret (other than I wish I hadn't waited so long).

I am guessing you mean zero surgical complications? I didn't have anything. Everyone has pain and things like that though. I am 6 months out right now, I haven't even thrown up due to my surgery. I did once because of a Migraine but that was it.

3 plus months out no problems at all. 1 bout of nausea early on brought my own cause. 54 pounds down. I don't tolerate greasy or sugary foods. That works out for me cause i don't need those anyhow. I have not been sick . I just sweat from sugar , i take it as reminder, no sugar and a caution! I got in this to eat healthy anyhow. From a 22/24 to a 14 I'm happy.

No Regrets!

6 mo out, surgery was a breeze....easiest surgery I've ever had! My only "problem" ( if you want to call it that) is occasional constipation...but I can now tell when I'm slowing down & take something, so that's an easy fix! Absolutely NO regrets, best thing I've ever done for myself!

Can't say I have had any issues (thank god). I haven't even thrown up either. Down 64 pounds in 3 months. Had a pretty easy recovery. Only took the pain meds for a couple days post op to knock me out to sleep.< /p>

My surgery was May 9th and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. Almost no pain at all from the incisions, no vomiting or other digestive issues. I haven't had trouble with any particular foods either. At the hospital on the second day they only kept giving me apple juice which made me feel a bit sick to my stomach, but when I switched over to broth that problem resolved itself. That was the most trouble I've had. I have lost 25 lbs since the day of surgery so I am currently averaging 4 lbs lost per week. I'm very happy I had the surgery!

Waving hands here! I had gas that's it! I got nauseated twice. Once in the hospital the day of and here at home from too much liquid at once. Since, I feel great! I can eat w/o becoming nauseated and I have a good amount of restriction. I love my sleeve! I was banded before and maybe that's why? I have NO regrets except not getting sleeved sooner!!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
