I really like Dannon light n fit Greek. Only 80 calories and really tasty, and I can't stand plain Greek yogurt.

I guess I could talk to my nut about this but is the nutritional value in greek yogurt better than regular? Suppose that both kinds are fat free and sugar free what is the difference? Plain greek yogurt (without fresh fruit) makes me wanna gag so I have stayed away from it. It also wasnt until recently that it was a big deal.

Get " traditional" instead of fruit on bottom

It usually has 2 or 3 times the Protein as regular yogurt. Plain it is gross, tastes like sour cream. I flavor mine with vanilla flavored stevia. It is also a lot thicker than regular yogurt. I always tell people do not eat it plain. But don't buy the flavored ones either, most of the time they are flavored using sugar and high in carbs. You could mix Protein Powder with regular yogurt, but not sure how well it would dissolve.

Yay for high protein!

You can make your own "Greek" yogurt, as it is just strained regular yogurt. Take a quart of plain regular yogurt (fat free, 2%, whatever) and place it in a strainer lined with cheese cloth. Let it drain overnight. You can also put the yogurt into a cheesecloth sack and hang it over the sink overnight. The next morning you have Greek yogurt. We used to call it "yogurt cheese" 20 years ago. You can also mix in herbs and salt/pepper into the yogurt before straining. It's very tasty spread on veggies or whole grain bread. I suppose you could mix in stevia and sweet flavoring before straining, too, if you didn't want savory.

If you make your own homemade yogurt, this is how you can "Greekify" it.

There are many regular yogurts that are high in Protein too. Just have to shop around

If its just regular yogurt with the Water taken out, how does it get more Protein?

I remember letting reg. yogurt filter through a sieve to make "yogurt cheese" but I'm not getting how that can possibly increase the Protein? ?

Not being a smart-ass, I really don't know:)

Greek yogurt is regular yogurt that is strained (like curd is strained to make cheese). It has more Protein because there is more of the yogurt "solids" per volume than regular yogurt. Plain Greek yogurt tastes the same as plain normal yogurt. It's just that most of us are not used to eating plain yogurt at all. I have bought plain yogurt for years and add a teaspoon of jam or honey. While I'm on purée it's just honey. Although I have grown to like it plain. It's also nice to use as a dip. Just add some ranch or French onion Soup powder.

I also mix a tbsp of Greek yogurt into cottage cheese because in Australia, cottage cheese is drained more and is more "dry" than the cottage cheese I grew up with in the US. I used to just add a little milk but the yogurt enhances the Protein. I eat my cottage cheese with cracked pepper so I accept that I am a weirdo.

Actually Greek yogurt is not a rule so I'm not breaking any rules so its harsh of you to assume that. And I do eat plain yogurt all the time and to me it does taste very different.

Janice... That last part of her post was something she's trying to put in her "signature" for all posts,

I know this because she was trying to do it from her mobile but it came out looking like regular text... Not like my signature at the bottom of my posts. You know the "nothing changes" bit down there below.

I told her to fix it because someone would think she was scolding at the end of her post! :P

My husband makes a nice dip (for veggies, etc.) with greek yogurt, minced shallots and a little salt & pepper. So delicious, reminds me of rich, onion dip.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
