Today's been very emotional for me. I'm on the verge of not having and the surgery and I'm scheduled for Tuesday. I've only lost 5lbs. The dietician said my liver was holding on to all the calories and fat it could. So now I'm scared that my liver will be in the way. I'm starving and feel like I'm gonna break. All I do at this point is cry. I'm honestly scared of dying or something going wrong.

I wouldn't worry too much. A good surgeon can easily work around a fatty liver. Shrinking just makes things a little easier, but I doubt seriously it would be a show stopper. Try relax, breath and focus on the long term. The surgery is just a first of many steps. Hang in there, you'll be okay.

Just take a deep breath. If your liver is to fatty they will not operate. I was freaking out like you were the night before surgery. After waiting months, having my lapband removed and then waiting more months. I am now 4 weeks out. Down 32lbs including preop diet and feeling like a million bucks. This is serious and you should take that way. Obviously we can't look to the future and know all will be fine but for me i knew how my future would be without the surgery. The risks exist but are truly minimal. The first two weeks are hard but doable. I wish you nothing but success.

I went thru a stage in the weeks before surgery and found that if I educated myself on everything I could find on the gastric sleeve, I'd be better prepared for the surgery. Somewhat wrong. I did educate myself but praying sometimes works better than knowledge. I prayed for strength to get me thru this and a sudden calm came over me. The surgery no longer frightened me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
