I never thought about that. I wonder will I have to remove my piercings since they mentioned no jewelry

They have to put in a "foley" (urine cath) so forget your modesty. My wife is a OR nurse and she has seen more "twats and *****" than a porn star.

Seen my fair share also. Just another part of the body to us OR nurses!

Usually a paper gown that they'll remove after they knock you out.

I was wondering the same thing! Lol

What's funny about this topic was I never really thought much of being naked on the table. I knoe they out a paper gown on me prior to surgery. When I woke up in recovery I had on a typical hospital gown. Never to get much of it right away. Then one day it hit me that I woke up in something different than I went to "sleep" in.

I am so excited about my surgery I don't care about being completely naked. LOL!

I agree...don't care! Lol

I wore something VERY comfortable and loose so I could wear it home. I also brought lots of clean underwear for when I could take showers. Once you get there you put on a gown and maybe some non skid socks.

In the Or. Your gown is lifted way up to your neck and your arms are strapped down. The Dr and nurses see everything.. ;)

Arms strapped down???? Ill prolly have a panic attack do they really do that??

I had to remove piercings and still haven't put them back in one year on!

On the table I know I was naked, I went in in a hospital gown thing and woke up with a different one on. But I was under a GA so what do I care? LOL.

Oh I did have to wear those sexy stockings that work to improve circulation and then over them non slip socks as they had a requirement that I walk into theatre and hop up on the table myself. And why not? It is not like I was sick!

As for the strapping down, if they do it it is when you are out. You won't even know so don't worry about it :-)

They see one they've seen them all!!!.I work health care and trust me if you are worried about that us as health care professionals think nothing of it, not like your gonna see them again thats what I tell myself when i go through the TSA LMAO..I could care less if they see me naked...ha I feel bad for them ;)...lol but no really in all honestly usually they want you completely naked underneath your gown and just like that guy said up there ^^ anesthesia will take care of any modesty issues lol!

In my PreOp class today they told the girls not to have nail polish because it can mess with the pulse ox.

I was wondering if it is an option to not have the catheter in. I caught a bladder infection from it when I had my hysterectomy. Does anyone know or were given that option?
