Has anyone ever used DR.Kim? Wife and I are doing this surgery on May 6. was nervous and scared now I'm very excited about this change that's about to come.. Started the Pre-Op on Monday with the Protein Shakes, which I think are pretty good especially the chocolate flavor. Quit some of my bad habits and now that day two is gone will continue striving and praying for good things dealing with the upcoming surgery. Even though my twin 9 yr old boys tease me about what I can't have I laugh because those things that i cant have anymore like sodas, fast foods and lack of exercising is the reason I am where I am. I just don't want to lose my mental strength, which has carried through out my life. I just hope that I am the same on the inside as I was prior to this process. MAY 6 is a very important day and I pray that all goes well with me and everyone getting theses procedures. I never have used a support group for anything but this support group I am glad to be a part of. Pray for me and my wife that this life changing experience does what it should and that is to make us healthy

Welcome! I am being sleeved by Dr. Kim on 5/20! Do you all live in Tx? Im coming from NC and am looking for inexpensive flights and hotel. I paid my deposit and my insurance is paying the rest. Where are you all having the surgery at? Im having mine at victory medical. Also, anyone who is having their surgery before me, can you try to leave a detailed account of how everything went? Thanks in advance!!

Dr. Kim did my sleeve 7 months ago at Baylor Trophy Club. He is a top notch surgeon and his staff is wonderful. Just had my check up last Monday. I had a very easy surgery and an easy recovery. I'm down 65 lbs, 5 sizes and over 60 inches. I have about 15 pounds to goal and I'm so thankful to Dr. Kim and his staff!

Baylor TC was very very nice! Also, I think there were only a handful of other patients on my whole floor, so as I was up walking laps I was the only one out there! All the nurses would encourage me and were very pleasant and competent! The first 24 hours were rough simply because you cannot have anything by to drink at all until you do your swallow test the morning after surgery, and with the oxygen right after surgery your mouth will be very very dry. But it was not that long of a time period and once you get through it and at home you will be on a wonderful journey! I was only there one night and was dressed and waiting the next day in the chair when Dr. Kim's PA, David (who is incredible) stopped by to see how I was doing. Good luck and let us know how you are doing!

My surgery is today. Had to be at hospital at 6:30 am. My surgery was scheduled for 10. It is now 12:20. 2 people are still ahead of me. Nurses say this is very typical of Dr. Kim. Just be prepared to wait...

I will be having Dr Holden. Dr Kim's associate, do my surgery at Baylor Trophy Club sometime this fall. I'm very impressed with the whole office. Looking forward to my new journey to health.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
