DR.KIM

Has anyone ever used DR.Kim? Wife and I are doing this surgery on May 6. was nervous and scared now I'm very excited about this change that's about to come.. Started the Pre-Op on Monday with the protein shakes, which I think are pretty good especially the Chocolate flavor. Quit some of my bad habits and now that day two is gone will continue striving and praying for good things dealing with the upcoming surgery. Even though my twin 9 yr old boys tease me about what I can't have I laugh because those things that i cant have anymore like sodas, fast foods and lack of exercising is the reason I am where I am. I just don't want to lose my mental strength, which has carried through out my life. I just hope that I am the same on the inside as I was prior to this process. MAY 6 is a very important day and I pray that all goes well with me and everyone getting theses procedures. I never have used a support group for anything but this support group I am glad to be a part of. Pray for me and my wife that this life changing experience does what it should and that is to make us healthy

Not sleeved yet but Dr Kim is doing mine in June!! I've read lots of great reviews for him on this page. Good luck to you both!!

Welcome! I am being sleeved by Dr. Kim on 5/20! Do you all live in Tx? Im coming from NC and am looking for inexpensive flights and hotel. I paid my deposit and my insurance is paying the rest. Where are you all having the surgery at? Im having mine at victory medical. Also, anyone who is having their surgery before me, can you try to leave a detailed account of how everything went? Thanks in advance!!

I am having my surgery May 7 with Dr. Kim. I started my liquid diet today. Getting a bit nervous about surgery but I am also very excited. I too am having my surgery at Victory Medical. I live in Texas (Plano, just outside Dallas).

He's not my doctor but have heard good things about him here on VST.

Dr. Kim did my sleeve 7 months ago at Baylor Trophy Club. He is a top notch surgeon and his staff is wonderful. Just had my check up last Monday. I had a very easy surgery and an easy recovery. I'm down 65 lbs, 5 sizes and over 60 inches. I have about 15 pounds to goal and I'm so thankful to Dr. Kim and his staff!

That's awesome!!! You are rocking that sleeve!! Can you tell me how the hospital stay was? I'm also getting sleeved at Baylor TC. I've never been there so would love your thoughts. Thx!!

Baylor TC was very very nice! Also, I think there were only a handful of other patients on my whole floor, so as I was up walking laps I was the only one out there! All the nurses would encourage me and were very pleasant and competent! The first 24 hours were rough simply because you cannot have anything by to drink at all until you do your swallow test the morning after surgery, and with the oxygen right after surgery your mouth will be very very dry. But it was not that long of a time period and once you get through it and at home you will be on a wonderful journey! I was only there one night and was dressed and waiting the next day in the chair when Dr. Kim's PA, David (who is incredible) stopped by to see how I was doing. Good luck and let us know how you are doing!

My surgery is today. Had to be at hospital at 6:30 am. My surgery was scheduled for 10. It is now 12:20. 2 people are still ahead of me. Nurses say this is very typical of Dr. Kim. Just be prepared to wait...

What did y'all think about Victory Medical Center?

I thought Victory Medical Center was great. The nurses were attentive, professional and so nice!

I will be having Dr Holden. Dr Kim's associate, do my surgery at Baylor Trophy Club sometime this fall. I'm very impressed with the whole office. Looking forward to my new journey to health.

Baylor TC is a great facility. A very small hospital but I was we'll taken care of there!

Reassuring to know!

For those of you that had DrKim perform your surgery, did you have drains put in? If so how long did you have them?
