Ive stopped or seriously slowed

I had surgery in may of 2012 and went from 479 day of surgery weight to 355 currently. In the past 2 months ive lost a total of 10 pounds and none in the past 2 weeks. I can consume 2000-2.5k, its discouraging that im able to eat more then mos on the forum. I have drank a total of 2 carbonated beverages in a year so thats one thing ive had under control but i do pick alot and eat snacks a lot. Ive heard from so many others that they dont have a urge to eat but it seems like i get it every 2-3 hours. I have until 2 days ago not counted calories or excercised. I was losing weight without even trying so pyschologically i guess i said i didnt have to. Heres the interesting part though that id like an answer to, how is it that at my weight and height im able to consume 3500 calories a day and still lose 2lbs a week but yet im eating 2500 or less and havent lost anything in weeks?

In order for anyone to help you out, we would need to see a sample menu of what you eat on a daily basis.

I am not sure if you are aware that you should not be snacking during the day ...It should be 3 squares a day plus 2 Snacks..that's it.

You will NOT die, if you don't eat every 3-4 hours. Do you have a fear of being starved? Have you looked at all the issues surrounding your eating? Why haven't you been watching what you have been eating in terms of calorie counting or exercising?

90% of weight loss is diet. 10% is exercise. You eat to lose weight, you exercise to stay strong.

In order to better understand stuff, it would be great if you could state how tall you are.. because calorie consumption in a body, and what you need in order to lose weight is relevant to height and weight and bone frame size. So if you can give us those details, we could help you figure it out and better answer your questions more :)

Snacking will make you stall. And most people are surprised at how much they can eventually eat. Be diligent about measuring your meals.

Ive measured and monitored through myfitnesspal my caloric intake and its right at 2-2.5k a day at my weight i should still be losing at least 2 lb a week. I dont get it.

I got myself a nike fuel band and am now actually going to try.

Are you eating protein dense meals? How are your carbs?

It's not the caloric intake I'd be focusing on so much as the actual amount of food you ingest. 4-6oz meals.

No i havent really concentrated on protein i know they should be. Im now starting to buy/eat healthier so im going with kashi cereal/oats and blueberries. Ill have chobani yogurts (love them) and special k protein bars etc. i still though dont get at my weight how i could not still be dropping. Is it maybe "sugar" free iced teas because i love them and i know they have sugar substitutes like splenda or teuvia and read recently that they could cause hunger?

Also, don't worry so much about it :) stalls happen to all of us. The best thing to do is stay away from the scale for awhile. It can really make you subconsciously make a mountain out of a mole hill :)

Try more dense protein, it lasts longer in your system. Avoid grazing. I make sure to eat 3 meals and 2-3 VERY small Snacks in a day. Cereals and oats still have carbs and eating those without protein can cause hunger fairly soon after eating them. I usually stick with eggs or leftover chicken for Breakfast and have my granola as my first snack of the day to get in my Fiber. If you eat your 2-3oz of protein before your cereal/oats you won't want as much which will lower your carb intake and help keep you full longer.

So maybe skip the morning staple of mine in oats and switch to the chobani in the morning maybe?

That would work! It's worth a shot. Sometimes I'll have chobani with granola for breakfast and maybe some blueberries or strawberries. It's Protein, fiber, fruit, and filling :)

Or maybe add some unflavored protein powder to your oats.

I'm at the dentist :D but yes get rid of the bars and such. They will increase cravings! Try eggs and sausage for breakfast.

Sugar or real or fake increases my cravings so I try to keep it to a minimum.. I have though started eating fage plain Greek yogurt with blueberries and one Splenda its pretty good.

Oh and when you snack make it real food like deli meat and a bit of cheese and of course your veggies :)

It's quite an adjustment for sure! I will say Unjury's unflavored protein powder has pretty specific temperature restrictions. My mom has one from GNC that doesn't lose it's protein when it's hot. She adds that to oatmeal when she eats it and I can't really taste it.
