Weird pain/discomfort...

Recommended Posts

I'm almost 4 weeks out (sleeved 3/26). I having some really weird discomfort - just to the left of my belly button stretching almost to one of my other incisions, just above my waist. It doesn't hurt all the time, but when I cough or laugh I notice it. It also bothers me when I roll over in bed, and sometime just when I'm doing nothing. Anyone else experience something similar? It's not gallbladder (wrong spot) or from my stomach itself (too low). I'm going to call my surgeon's office in the morning, but I was just curious to see if anyone else felt the same thing...

Any sort of pain that causes you to wonder after a major surgery like this, should be addressed by your surgeon if possible.

However, I am wondering if it is just the tightness of the internal sutures or stitches. I had similar discomfort when seating in certain positions. My surgeon told me it would go away when the threads dissolved over time. It was bothering me for the first 4-5 weeks (sleeved Feb 18th) The feeling is completely gone now for me.

Again, check with your doctor, as I heard not all surgeon even do the internal stitches for faster recovery...(?)

Yeah. It happened to me too. I also got a weird sensation under the incisions that felt like an electric shock of some kind. I was told that it was nerve endings growing back together. I would just be doing whatever and suddenly it felt like someone gave me a poke with some kind of electric thing and I would jump because it surprised me. My kids found this to be very funny.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
