My "sleeve experience in Cancun, MX" starts tomorrow!

Can't believe tomorrow's the day I leave for Cancun to have my surgery! My hands are shaking as I type this message, but I really am excited! I know there hasn't been much posted here about Dr. Perez and surgery in Cancun, so I will be sure to fill everyone in on how it goes! Cheers to a healthier lifestyle!

Fabby40, I'm just curious I had my surgery already but Ive read that a lot of ppl are going to Mexico to get this done. Why are ppl going to Mexico if u don't mind me asking?

Good luck to you! I can't wait to hear about your trip. I'm going to Cancun in June.

Hi princess,

A lot of people choose to go to MX because we are self-pay (our insurance doesn't cover the surgery). In the US the surgery costs $25k ish, and in MX it costs $5k ish .

I am going for 3 reasons 1 because I am self pay, 2 the hospital staff really cares and 3 I didn't want to jump through hoops and wIt 2 years

Just a quick check-in! Today is Tuesday, and I had my surgery on Saturday. At the moment I am sitting on the absolutely beautiful beaches of Cancun, sipping a v-8 Splash. To be honest, 2 days ago I couldn't even imagine that it was possible to feel this good by now. I felt like miserable. But it is amazing how each day, you literally feel 100% better.

I got to meet my fellow sleeve sister "superbly insane"! She's awesome, and I was glad to have someone to bounce thoughts off of. My husband had the surgery with me too, and he is doing well too.

I will post my whole experience when I get back, but just wanted y'all to know I survived!

Sounds also like a good place to get R&R after the surgery with a SF virgin pina colada in hand and feet dipping in the water. Have fun !!

I can't wait to hear more when you are back. I'm going at the end of June!

Just checking in with you to see how you are doing?

Hope all is well!

How are you doing? Haven't see you post and so hoping you are okay. Please update your blog or send a note that you are okay since you've been home from your surgery.
