  1. Can't believe tomorrow's the day I leave for Cancun to have my surgery! My hands are shaking as I type this message, but I really am excited! I know there hasn't been much posted here about Dr. Perez and surgery in Cancun, so I will be sure to fill everyone in on how it goes! Cheers to a healthier lifestyle!
  2. Thank you abcmc. The resort is MORE beautiful than what I was expecting from the website. It was so awesome. Yesterday I really got to enjoy it. Laid out almost all day at the beach! Even went in the ocean, incisions and all! (Doctor said ocean okay, but no pool, so enjoy the pool BEFORE surgery if you can). I'm on the plane on my way home, feeling pretty darn normal. I will post everything by this weekend! I truly can't believe I'm in the other side now!

    2nd day post op... blah

Don't get discouraged. Day 2 was awful for me too. I'm on Day 4 now, and I feel so "normal". Do you still have an IV? If so, don't worry about how much you're drinking, you'll have plenty. I didn't have problems with urinating. In fact, I was so uncomfortable in bed, I went to the bathroom constantly for something to "do"! Hang in there...I promise it will be better very soon!
  4. Hi abmc, thanks for the well wishes! I had my surgery on Saturday, and everything went smoothly. I am recovering at the coolest resort I've ever seen, Westin Lagunamar. I will write up everything when I get back, but so far so good!
  5. Just a quick check-in! Today is Tuesday, and I had my surgery on Saturday. At the moment I am sitting on the absolutely beautiful beaches of Cancun, sipping a v-8 Splash. To be honest, 2 days ago I couldn't even imagine that it was possible to feel this good by now. I felt like miserable. But it is amazing how each day, you literally feel 100% better. I got to meet my fellow sleeve sister "superbly insane"! She's awesome, and I was glad to have someone to bounce thoughts off of. My husband had the surgery with me too, and he is doing well too. I will post my whole experience when I get back, but just wanted y'all to know I survived!
  6. Hi princess, A lot of people choose to go to MX because we are self-pay (our insurance doesn't cover the surgery). In the US the surgery costs $25k ish, and in MX it costs $5k ish .
  7. I will be there this Saturday.....I'll let you know!
  8. Great job! You are an inspiration! I am starting journey in Cancun in one week!

  14. Anita, I'm so glad to hear how well you are doing! Thanks so much for your reply! That's great that you can have little bits of all kinds of food. I was quoted $5450 with Ready4aChange, FYI. Good luck to you and your sister!

    Losing Hair

great article! Thanks for sharing! I've been really worried about the hair loss issue after surgery (scheduled 4/20/13) because my hair has already begun thinning, especially in the front-top. I started taking Biotin, and applying Mioxinol solution (the main ingredient found in Rogain). I'm also taking a supplement called NuHair. I am trying to get my hair as healthy as possible BEFORE surgery....who knows if it will do one darn thing, but I wanted to at least give it a shot. I only started a couple of weeks ago and the Mioxinol says it will take 4 months to work! I'll have to report back later if I had any success.
