I was sleeved 1/14/2013. So far I have lost 35 pounds, but over the past few days I see I have gained 4 pounds. I already feel like I am loosing slow and now gaining 4 pounds. How is that possible? I know I am not eating too much. Could that happen from not getting enough Protein or Water? Any ideas out there?

Drink a lot of Water. Maybe you are retaining water? And also recheck what you are eating? I had a stall at 3 weeks and gained 2 pounds. Just

Lost 1 of them today ( sleeved march 20)

I was hoping that it could be not getting enough Water or Protein. I will keep better track and increase both of them. Thanks

Make sure you hit all of your marks in terms of nutrition, Water intake, and exercise. Also, when you stall or gain a few pounds pay close attention to your measurements. You will probably find yourself losing inches and not pounds. When your body resizes the weight loss is put on hold. As long as you remain focused on your goals, you will lose either inches or weight. Not always both at the same time.

Another point, is it almost time for Aunt Flo? Have you had a healthy bowel movement in a while?

If you are eating like you should, just kick start the weight loss again by increasing your Protein as much as you can. I know at three months out you still cannot eat a lot, but always, upping my protein and liquids helped. It still helps if the scale goes up two or three lbs.

I say liquids because I can't drink that much Water, the nurse finally told me to DRINK LIQUIDS, that are not carbonated or sugared. After that, I kept iced tea made all the time and drank some water, iced tea and coffee. She wanted to make sure I didn't dehydrate, I never had any problems after that advice from her!!!

ttamara: hope you are doing well. I am getting sleeve by Dr. Wizman on April 7th, would you answer some questions?

1. If you had chance to redo the surgery, would you still use Dr. Wizman?

2. How was your pain after the surgery?

3. If you had to critic Dr. Wizman, what is the one thing you would critic on him?

thanks in advance for your time.

I second the time-of-month possibility!! Around when I ovulate I lose Water and then I gain water like crazy and it looks like weight gain... Then after my period it looks like I'm having just SUPER weight loss!! Progesterone makes me puff up....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
