I am May 28th sleever too. I am going to be in Des Moines' date=' Iowa. Is anyone else here nervous about the surgery?? I am starting to get pretty nervous about all of the changes and pain. Early may sleevers - how was your hospital stay?[/quote']

Yep I'm definitely getting nervous today just not knowing what all will happen. I'm trying to keep myself busy with cleaning non stop.

Don't be scared. Day one was easy. Day two the worst due to gas. Day three much better. Day four back at my desk job w a lil soreness but no pain. Ten days post and nineteen lbs down!

Where are the other 28 th sleevers having yours done?

I'm having mine this Friday at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles - I am a little nervous yet very excited as well. I am losing more weight this week since I am doing clear liquids now since yesterday. I just have been doing a lot of cardio a session in the morning before work and in the early evening after work to get ready plus to clear my head. Please post after your surgery to get your feedback and to see how you are feeling. You will be in my prayers. You should be excited the journey is about to begin. Congrats

I know how you feel. I am on clears now just to get used to it. My surgery is the 31st and I am getting excited yet still a bit nervous about the recovery but reading everyone's experiences on this site it makes it a lot more comforting. You will be fine and please post after your surgery so I can see how you are doing. You are in my prayers and good luck tomorrow

Good luck with your op! You'll be fine.

I was sleeved May 7 and to be honest very scared.

When I woke from surgery I was in a lot of pain and felt very ill. I think they must of given me so many drugs because I slept for about 8hrs straight afterwards!

That night I had trouble sleeping due to pain but requested pain killers for it which eased the pain.

The next morning I was still sore but started walking (highly recommend) which helped ease the pain too. I was in hospital for 5 days but each day the pain got a little better and by the end of the 2nd week post op I had no pain at all.

Are you with Mercy or Methodist? I can't speak for Methodist but I was sleeved on May 7th and my stay was great. The first 12 hours were not fun but honestly I rebounded so quickly after that. I feel completely "normal" (or like I did before surgery) and have for awhile now. I can already get in 600 calories a day and it's been so easy that I almost forget that I had the surgery.

I didn't even use any pain meds since a day after surgery and haven't puked or dry heaved since then either. Was able to walk about 2 miles five days after surgery. I can't speak for everyone but so far it's been a breeze. I wish I was losing a little more weight (11 lbs since surgery) but I would rather take the great recovery than massive amounts of weight loss and complications. Good luck!!!!

Well in just a few hours it will be my turn. Getting ready to be in the sleeved side. I have to be at the hospital at 6 am. Surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am. No turning back now.
