Pain, nausea and Gas pains

Recommended Posts

I am scared....dry heaves are sooooo bad

:(. I had surgery on April 3rd.. I walk like 10mins every hour....I sip Water and Protein. Haven't taken pain meds because I'm not sure if that's what's causing dry heaving.....when should I feel better ? Ugh.. I have never had dry heaving from anesthesia before.

It gets better...my first two days were pretty rough. Keep walking, and keep sipping. Did the doc give you any nausea medication? I went through two different ones, then got a wristband with an electric pulse and that finally did the trick. Call your doc!

I agree, the anti nausea meds were a great friend of mine. I still get nausea, but only from rich foods or eating to fast. I am 4 months out, the first week was the worst. Stay strong, and if you don't have any get on the horn and get the anti nausea meds. Best wishes

My first 2 days were the worst. My advice is to leave the house. Hit the mall. Window shop for about an hour or too (gas be gone!!)

Try it again the next day (and watch the gas go away)

As for the pain meds take them. Get some anti nausea meds. The first 2 days were the worst for me. I was like wth did i gte myself into. As time goes on you;ll start feeling much better. Good Luck!

Hey! I had my surgery April 3rd too! Just wanted to say hang in there! I was struggling earlier this morning with feeling dehydrated. I love Water and only taking small sips is such a struggle. I'm not going to lie, I have been taking bigger sips and dealing with the slight pain it sends my stomach. Anyways, good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
