You will do great! The hardest part of all this for me was making the decision to go that morning. I nervously joked with my husband that we could just skip it and "go to breakfast". Those words tell the whole story of why I had to make that appointment. Congratulations you brave, beautiful woman!!!!!!!

I DID IT. IM STILL A BIT OUT OF IT SO PARDON ME IF I MISPELL SOMETHING. IM STILL IN THE WHAT THE HECK DID I DO TO MYSELF STAGE. PLEASE TELL ME IT GETS BETTER FROM HERE. I EXPECTED TO BE MORROW UP AND ALERT WITHOUT PAIN BUT THAT WAS WISHFUL THINKING. THE GAS HAS BEEN HORRIBLE ...THE PAIN FROM BEING SO UNCOMFORTABLE IS SO AGONIZING. I DON'T FEEL LIKE DRINKING OR EATING. IS THIS NORMAL?

It gets better. :-) I'm three weeks out and down almost 25 since surgery date. Pain gets better every day. Walk a lot to help with the gas pain. Try eating ice when they let you.

I woke up still in the OR thinking OMFG what did I just do??!?!? That was after having a few break downs in the pre op room. Every day you will notice a small improvement, and it will feel like a huge accomplishment.

Also don't be afraid to use pain meds if it is unbearable. Set a pain goal and work with the nurses to stay under that goal. I set mine at a 4 out if 10. Every four hours they would bring me my pain meds so I could stay ahead of the pain. It is horrible trying to play catch up.

Congrats on surgery!! :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
