HOW MUCH CALCIUM SHOULD I TAKE?!

Recommended Posts

Hey sleevers,

I will be sleeved on Thursday. YEAH! However, I am confused with how much calcium citrate I should be taking. My doctor says 3,500 mg/daily. But when I read about what others were told to take, it was no more than 1,500mg daily. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TAKING OUT THERE?! PLEASE HELP! Taking to much Calcium or not enough will result in major health problems.

Thanks.

Dynamitetee

I take 2 500mg UPCalD packets and at least another 500mg from food I eat... 1500mg daily on average. 3500mg daily is way overkill and not needed IMO.

I have been told 1000 to 1200. I think it depends on your starting weight and age. I i would ask your Dr and see what they say. I didn't need to switch to citrate until I was 6 weeks post op

1500 mg is a good amount. And if you like caramel, chocolate, strawberry chews, it gives you a valid reason to eat SF candy 6 times a day ( most chews are 250 mg). Lovin' the Bariatric Advantage caramel calcium chews.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
