Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?

Recommended Posts

You are welcome. I think us "slow" losers shy away for many reasons, sad, but true. I think there are more of us than we probably realize. My surgeon reminded me of the stats, 70% of excess weight in the first 12-18 months and it could take up to 2 years to reach goal. I hope it doesn't take me two years , but it is still faster than my year of nutritional planning and working out with a 15lb loss that I gained back on vacation. I am so thankful for my sleeve whether it takes me 12-24 months to reach goal!

Well Said - Thank You for the Reminder! Just what I needed to hear :)

Neverminvd- got the ticker to work!

Another thought, although I don't seem to be losing pounds lately, I can definitely notice a difference in my skin. Prior to surgery, my face was really breaking out. I think it was a combination of oily skin, work stress, surgery stress & eating too much junk food. Since surgery, my face has really cleared up. I guess my body likes the healthier eating!

By the way' date=' I created a ticker, but what do I have to do to get it to show when I post?[/quote']

If you're using an app on you phone it doesn't show

That's really creepy. Even I don't monitor my own eating patterns that closely. If a complete stranger did' date=' I would start to wonder.

I agree and Amazon13 is a sad day in the neighborhood... You both need hugs and a life.

I have lost 60 lbs since jan. 18. I am not sure if that is slow or not. I know many are losing much faster than me! However, my face is the thinnest it has been in years...and guess what? I don't have jowls of excess skin. And today I looked in the mirror at my bare back. I don't have fat rolls anymore...and no lose skin. So I am ok with the way I am losing. :)

33 lbs for me now since 1/29, I am losing about 1.5 to 2 lbs per week. So far I'm happy, just anxious to see what the next few months bring! I would love to feel comfortable in a pair of shorts this summer. I haven't slid these thighs into some shorts in YEARS! lol

Honey I am right here with you. I stalled, lost 15 lbs and Im stalled again. My weight keeps migrating to 257.8...to the ounce! Lol. I've increased cardio and resistance and adjusted my calories up and down. What I keep telling myself is that Im not ingesting enough calories to maintain this weight so its got to come off...at some point

How has your loss been so far? It has been a long journey, but rewarding right?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
