Frozen Yogurt Six days out?

Recommended Posts

Okay... I'm in liquids only. Not Clear Liquids, but liquids. I can have creamed Soups... Protein Shakes and all of the normal liquids....

What are the thoughts on Frozen Yogurt??? We have a great little frozen yogurt place here in town and I would LOVE some right about now, but I'm not sure that is considered to be a "liquid".... ???

My appologies if this question comes across as being lame (like I should know better), but I'm honestly on the fence about this one...

Not sure what kind of response you are looking for but here goes: are you kidding me? Frozen yogurt full of sugar no nutrient value. You do want to lose weight right? I bet that you did not pay for your surgery.........Wait until you can have pureed foods and enjoy some great greek yogurt full of Protein and goodness. Good Luck to you. :(

I'm on full liquids also and my "cheat" sheet that was given to me from the dietician says low-fat/low-sugar yogurt and fat-free/sugar-free pudding. So If I was in our shoes, I would have some :D As long as it's low-fat/low-sugar.

Wow! Thanks for the attack!

Actual I was being serious. And yes, I did pay for my surgery (not that that should be a factor in any case. This surgery is the same regardless).

Perhaps I should have been more specific in starting sugar free frozen yogurt OR sorbet.

I am not at the point where I can have Greek yogurt yet, otherwise I would help myself to some of that. I realize that frozen yogurt doesn't have "nutritional value" but at this point in the game, I'm not getting much nutritional values from anything that I'm taking in (besides my Protein shake).

Just make sure you choose sugar free. It will melt to liquid once in your body

Thank you for the information. ;)

My surgeon told me that I couldn't have pudding, yogurt until my second week (Wednesday). I guess with that being said, frozen yogurt would fall into those categories... ;) better hold off a few more days.

Thanks again!

The chubby girl in me want to say go for it....but the healthy girls trying to come out says don't sabotage your self this early on...if you can get thru the first couple of weeks with out. "Cheating" you've got this! Remember we are eating to live now not living to eat!! ????

Agree! I wasn't looking to "cheat" in anyway... I guess I must be completely oblivious to how bad sugar free frozen yogurt is.

I'm glad I posted this because I clearly need to look into what I "think" may be okay and what should be off limits. I know the obvious foods to stay away from, but never really though sf frozen yogurt would fall into thy category.

Thanks for the feedback ;)

I think we should cut folks s break here. It is yogurt not a whole pie. I am doubtful we will all go through the rest of our lives without what we want.

I ate a chocolate covered cherry today while with my dad at Harry and David. I did not explode or die. I did not like it either. But not the point. Just write it down and track in your food for the day.

When I was on my liquid diet (days 3-13 post op), I could have yogurt..and I LOVE greek yogurt. so what I did when I wanted something dessert-ish was mix the plain yogurt with a little yogurt. Then I got more adventurous and froze it in an ice cube tray..kinda worked but wasn't like the usual froyo from the places around here. If you want something like frozen yogurt from those places, my best idea for you is to do what I did and freeze the yogurt. Maybe even add some Protein Powder? Good luck!

I don't think it's horrible for you, for as much as you'd be able to eat it'd be about 100 calories but they're are carbs in it so theres that. I was tempted to eat some yesterday but decided it doesn't qualify as a full liquid lol

KimiKat3: I imagine if it was sugar free, you'd be good! Those Fro-yo places are BOMB! I haven't been sleeved yet, but have been through the lapband post op stage (back when it was super serious to do liquids 2 weeks, 2 weeks soft...) and man did I get bored!

I would get a small one, let it melt in your mouth a bit and eat just a little. See how you feel. I can't think of one thing wrong here- NO IDEA why people attack. This truly came off as an innocent question.

How come you can't have greek yogurt yet? Did I overlook something?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
