Bebee sleeve sisters it is! Love that. Lucie so far I tried the GNC whey banana cream and the Unjury orange dream sickle. Both were very good. I didn't like the Jay Robb tropical something that tasted like Water. I have a bunch more flavores to try and can let you know my opinions on them if you are interested. I haven't really found a ready made shake that I like yet, they all seem to have that after taste to me. I'm trying to figure it all out before my surgery so that I have what I like stocked up in the house because I'm sure I won't feel like shopping for alittle while.

Kari, I tried the Chike chocolate Bliss and it was really good. I also tried the Atkins Advantage ready made chocolate shake but that doesn't have enough Protein in it. Thanks for all your insight on what you've tried. I'm sure everyone here is helped by your information. I still have to try the Unjury vanilla and chocolate splendor and the Chike very vanilla and orange creme. I don't think I'll try the chicken Soup mix. Somehow a chicken soup shake just doesn't do it for me...lol.

Thanks Lucie, I never heard of the Chike, I will have to look that up. I tried the Atkins as well and your right you would need to drink about 8 of them to get enough Protein for the day! LOL..The Unjury orange dreamsickle and banana cream were very good. I tried the Jay Robb chocolate today and I just don't like their shakes, they taste like Water to me and I even added alittle light cream to it and still didn't like it. I wish I did because his shakes are very healthy for you, oh well. I did buy the Unjury chicken Soup because everyone says it's good, but i haven't tried it yet, I will let you know..

I just tried the Unjury strawberry. Not a fan of it in Water. Maybe have to mix it with something else. Perhaps lemonade.

Or try skim milk with it..You can also try adding alittle Light cream to it with the Water and see if that helps..The orange creamsickle was really good and the banana cream..

I've been using 2% milk. I had asked my medical team about it and they said ..."we'll, if you HAVE to".... I said I did !Lol

hi, i was suppose to have my sleeve on oct 8th last year but due to more health issues it was delayed, i had a few dates since, one was for 24th march but now it is going to be april, dont know when, but after waiting 53 months i finally believe it will be april.

I have already done one liver shrinking diet up to 3 days before my op should have been so know what is coming.

Im diabetic so i did the 800 cal low fat, low carb, low Protein diet, for the first three days i could have eaten my own fingers but after that it was easier and i felt so good on it, the only prob i had was sleep, im like a baby, full tummy sleep, empty stomach no sleep and grumpy, lol.

Im in the uk and having my sleeve on the nhs, and i only get one shot at it, so its got to be right.

I was so ready in oct and was devestated when my op was cancelled, but have grown through it and am so sure that this is going to give me a new me and a new life.

I had my gall bladder out 16 years ago at this weight and sailed through it, by keyhole, and i have been told that the sleeve is no more dangerous than a gall bladder removal, so am confident i will be good despite the added health issues i now have.

It is great to see so many excited april sleevers, i want to be sitting on the loosers bench with you in may.

Im Janet, aged 55 and raring to go, x

Hi Janet...so sorry you've had to wait so long, I've been waiting over a year and thought that was bad! Good luck on your new date I Hope you get it soon...Lucie, my nutritionist recommended Skim Plus to me and it really isn't bad, it's way better then regular skim milk, has a creamy taste to it, worth a try..

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
