March sleevers anyone?

Recommended Posts

Just had my surgery on the 6th. I'm home now and doing fine. Surgery went well. Was up and walking within three hours of returning to my room. Walking was pretty easy. I did feel hungry, but it didn't bother me. I didn't need much pain meds for the incisions. It was the gas pain that was hurting. I still haven't gotten rid of any of it and it makes drinking hard. I did have some pain in my left shoulder when the gas migrated, but a nice heat pad helped to move it elsewhere. The worse part of the whole experience was drinking the dye for the leak test. That stuff was beyond disgusting! Thank goodness I only had to drink 4 sips. There was no way I was going to be able to drink more than that without getting sick. Passed the leak test, was given a Popsicle, Jello and Water and was on my way home an hour and a half later. I wish I could get rid of the gas, I think I would like I was back to a 100%. I don't feel that I need the pain meds but take it so I can sleep better and longer. I wish everyone well and congrats to all who are already in recovery!

Please add me to the list for MARCH 29th!!!! FINALLY got my date today!

My pre-op diet is 1week low carb, then 1week liquid. Surgery is 3 weeks away, and they said to go ahead and start the first part of the diet. Um.....no thanks, lol! I think I'll just start cutting portions, eat healthier, and save the low-carb for the 15th. So happy to have people being sleeved the same month!

Day two was the worst for me too. I am on day five and things are improving. The nasuesea is letting up and so is the gas pains. Now mostly weak and struggling to get fluids in. Skin and eyes are very dry do I use visine and lots of aveeno after shower. Trying to keep busy but stuck in house cause of snow storm. Set my alarm to go off very hour to walk around the house in circles to keep circulating. Kind of boring but one day will be a memory... The bad "2nd day" is already starting to fade from my mind. Stay strong...

Hi, just thought I would update also, is was done on the8th, woke up and just wanted to sleep more when I woke up again I got up and walked, gas pains were starting, I found that every time I took a sip of Water gas would come out,so the hospital was full of burps from me,the nurse said to also try to lay on my left side but I didn't like the bed, I slept in the recliner, threw up twice, I would rather through the anesthesia up than obsorb it. Gross but felt so much better, I had a great nursery that massaged my shoulder, stopped pain meds at 4 the nextmorning on the 9th and went to Tylenol. O n full liquids today, and doing ok so far. Whoopwhoop

I was sleeved on March 6th and also had my gallbladder removed at the same time. My gallbladder actually burst during the surgery but the doctor was able to handle it well and I've had no complications from it. I'm recovering well. By the 6th day I started to feel pretty good. I'm 15 days out and had to come home from work today because the muscles near the incision where they removed my stomach are causing lots of pain as they stretch and heal. Just went back to work yesterday so probably pain from that. I'm on liquids until next Wednesday. Looking forward to chewing something again. I'm already down 27 lbs. 14 on 2 week pre op diet and 13 since the surgery. All the pain has been worth it already. Heating bad is helping with muscle healing.

Hi everyone

I have been stalking this site since October, but this is my first post. I was sleeved on March 19th, so today is post-op day 2! I must say that I feel extremely blessed, I have had no nausea and no pain! I credit alot of that from what I learned on this site and my remarkable surgeon. I had some trouble getting my Water in today, only about 20 ounces, but was able to get 40 grams of protien. I will keep following everyones progress, and am happy to be part of the team!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
