"expect the worse, hope for the best" :)

you thought it would take a longer time period to lose the majority of your weight

but you were pleasantly surprised by loosing quicker

for allll, see what can happen if you are not "expecting" to loose the weight overnight... :)

Don't worry about the initial ups and downs... I was like that too and I was devastated! I was sure that I'd had most of my stomach removed to just fail AGAIN and I was never going to lose weight! I hit my first stall 2 or 3 weeks in and it lasted 2 weeks with a gain! During that time I started just paying attention to clothes and how they fit and how I felt. Now I do weigh every day but it's more to keep myself accountable and to look at patterns. I only actually record my weight once a week though and even if I weigh less the day before weigh-in, I don't count it... I always count it the same day/same relative time to keep me honest. You will get there!

I will be perfectly honest with you and everyone else though - even though I may take some heat  ... My biggest secret was to not deprive myself. What I mean by this is I never said I can't have something... I said I can only have a tiny amount. Since I was approved for solid foods, I've eaten chocolate but no more than a kiss or a miniature a day. This for me took at lot of stress off of the worrying about what happens when I hit goal and I want to be "normal" again. Good luck!!

You are 200% right! I went into all of this eyes wide open  prepared for the worst and hoping! When I had surgery, I informed my family of all of the possible complications and we planned for them but hoped I'd be fortunate. Post-op, I counted my 45 days until I was in the safety zone but we planned for that time as well because we knew anything could happen!

Only thing I didn't expect was my daughter knocking on my door in the morning to borrow my clothes  .

Dag gone! You look amazing. Thanks for encouragement. I am 1-month post op, 27 pounds down, however I do not notice a difference - so, it can get a little frustating.

Thanks! I lost some but nothing that Vicki can't fix ;) . Funny thing is when you're thinner you need less up there anyway.

I am just the opposite, I'm looking forward to losing my man boobs!

Congrats, you are looking sooooo hot!

You deserve 2 snaps up in a Z formation - with sparkles! :)

Thanks, I needed to hear that! I am so, not a picture person. I do not like to take them, however, maybe I should.

Your advice and transformation is marvelous Barbi. I am still pre-op with surgury in 12 days. I am so excited, it is all I can think about. REading what you and others have said here is helping me a lot. Trying to get through the liquid phase. Not easy, but I am working it.

U need to take them for yourself---i also wrote all over my bedroom mirror in eyeliner---dates and measurements. That helped during my mega stall

i need to get to vickis! LOL...im 9 months out. Started at 232 at day of surgery. I am now 153. which is the surgeons projection for my one year mark. I dont have any curves (i have a fake it til u make it body for special days hahahah) so the goal is 125. not too far away!!

BTW i had a 3 month stall when i lost 60 lbs at 4 months out...started losing again in November.

I'm dealing with a almost 2 month stall right now! What did you do to get out of it? It's sooo aggravating!

Did you go 3 months with no weight loss? how did you get it going again? I started at 232 also, I finally hit -20 this morning (212) and I'm about 5 1/2 weeks post op.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
