Question for Sleevers with hypothyroidism....

Recommended Posts

I just a couple weeks Pre-Op, Once sleeved was wondering if people with hypothyroidism share similar results with weight loss or is it slower?

I have had a partial thyroidectomy and I take 50mcg of Synthroid a day. I was sleeved 2/4 and in the days since, have lost 11 pounds. I think that is comparable to what most others have lost.

I take 75 mcg's of levothyroxine a day. The surgeon has never said anything about my weight loss being any slower. Hopefully not!! Good luck......

I take 40 mcgs of Synthroid daily and I'm actually ahead of what my surgeon estimated for me. I am 2 months out and down 70 pounds total. (30 preop, 40 since surgery).

I take 200 mcg. Bottom line if your TSH is betwern 1 and 2.5 you should be fine.

I've had hashimoto's for 11 years. I am on 125mcg of levothyroxine. I was sleeved on the 17th of December and have lost 36 pounds. My doctor is pleased with my weight loss ad has said it's above average.

I have hypo as well. I am about 4 weeks out. About 22 lbs. just did physical and now my meds are off. Changing from 125 to 100 mcg. Doc said may or may not effect WLS. Said if i follow program should have not much of an impact. But each person is different.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
