Actually it was only 1 link and it was turkey and I had like 3/4 of it....no bun.....but the small crescent roll was worth it! Lol. I know I can eat solids but doc. Has meon liquids so I feel guilty for doing it and since my bmi was only 35 I am barely losing. Lost 7 lbs first week and nothing since..arrrggghhhh!

I sometimes take tiny sips 10 minutes or so after eating. I agree that it feels stuck. I think we all are safe listening to our body. It's like we are all learning a new language. I am learning lessons along the way such as my stomach says no no to ice cream. Sometimes sour cream too. Other than that I just keep listening and learning. It's a frustrating and exciting journey, don't you think?

This is reason we are told to practice not drinking leading up to our surgery. I only take a tiny sip when something is truly stuck which is rare. It is all mental and is rarely physical. I wait on average 45 mins before drinking after a meal, and never less than 35. It take practice and discipline, but if you stick with it becomes easier and a habit. Remember you had to replace a bad habit with a better gain. The gain is faster weight loss and a fuller feeling in the stomach. The sooner you drink after a meal, the quicker you empty the stomach and feel hungry or eat more than necessary. Think about that and give it a couple of days to a new habit.

The main reason you aren't supposed to drink after eating is because you won't feel full for as long--the Fluid washes the food thru your little stomach.

Shortness of breath. Swelling pain and redness to the calves. That's some of them.

I had blood clots travel to my lungs last October after a lung lobectomy. I was also going through chemotherapy which can also contribute to clots. It got to the point that my calf was hurting pretty bad but because my leg was not warm everyone/doctors included said it was nothing. I going very short of breath one day and I am very lucky to live to tell the tale. I had an IVC filter put in before my sleeve on the Feb 18th and have done very well. My heart's breaks for his family.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
