Over 400Lbs Gastric Sleeve Success Story

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I felt that way too. I weighed today and lost another 7 pounds, so 57 so far. I do know that I ate a little more 1 day and then went back to my regular 500-800 calories and I finally broke my stall.

Hey everyone! Sleeved Thursday June 12th. Thanks everyone, for all the support.

Pre Surgery top weight: 415 lbs. Surgery Weight: 400 lbs. Goal weight: 200 lbs. Need to lose 200 lbs. Currently on 2 week post op liquid diet.

So far everything is going well. Not much post op pain. Tolerating most of the fluids and Soups well. Sipping Water all day. Walking frequently per Dr's orders. Day 5 post op and so far so good! Have not weighed myself yet. A little scared to :-(

Good luck everyone!

Went to first post-op appointment today (sleeved on June 12th, twelve days ago) . Down 18 lbs since surgery. Moving on to soft food diet now. Everything is going great. Very glad I made the choice to get sleeved. I hope everyone else is doing OK. Hang in there everyone. Thank you for all the support!

Congrats jack! Glad you are on the downward slope! I'm going to weigh tomorrow to see if I have broken my stall or if it will be a third week of no movement on the scale. I will report back!

I'm thrilled to report that after 3 weeks.....I'm rewarded with 10 pounds! I got on the scale 3 times to make sure!! LOL whew! I stop by my PCP's office once a week to weigh so that I have a decent calibrated scale to weigh on.....mine at home is not very consistent. Thanks for the support! It's nice to know we are all in this together!

Hello everyone!

Reading this thread has been a major source of comfort and motivation for me..

I am 30 years old. I have been overweight my entire life. They sent notices home in kindergarten. I was 300 pounds on my thirteenth birthday. I have never been a healthy weight.

I am scared that the surgery won't help. I am also scared that I have been too heavy for too long and I will have serious complications. I want to be normal, but I also don't want to not wake up.

anyway, what you have all shared has been a major help to my peace of mind so thanks!

lastingdreams

I have had the very same fears when I started, I didn't think this would work, I did it as a last chance effort.

To my surprise it worked. Its not easy but doable .

I feel the same way at times. I have not had surgery yet. But knowing that so many others have started at or above where I am makes me see it can be done. I get so much inspiration from the people on these forums. Feel so glad I found them.

lastingdreams, I'm glad you are feeling better. It is daunting to know how far we have to go....but it is so inspiring to see that others have gone before us. For the first time in my life I feel like I'm not a slave to food. I'm about 20 years older than you....you can do this!!!

Hi all. I just wanted to share my first major nsv. I actually went into Walmart with my husband and walked the entire store to get what we needed. Before I could barely make it half way through our shopping and I would go wait on the benches outside the store. I am excited to already notice a difference even before surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
