Has anyone ran a 99 degree fever 3 days out?

Recommended Posts

I just started running a 99 degree fever. I am not for sure if that means if something coul be wrong. Also, my 2 year old has had diarhea, and I may have gotten a virus. I know my doctor said to call if my fever got to 101, so I just got alittle worried.

Thanks,

Katrina

Yes, I did. If it goes any higher than that though, contact your doc asap!

Never hurts to call, but I would hardly call 99 degrees a fever. You are only .4 degrees above normal. My body is going to vary by more than that throughout the day, for sure.

Plus, you did just have a surgery 3 days ago. Your body is going to be working a bit harder right now fighting organisms introduced into your system. Call, but don't stress about it. That won't help.

Low grade fever is a leak symptom. Mine never went over 99 and I almost died because the doc dismissed it. Call and get it to get checked NOW

I ran a low grade temp 99 to 100 after surgery. My dr said it was normal after surgery. Turns out I was fine no leaks or anything. My 4 year old actually just had to have surgery a couple weeks ago and she ran a low grade temp for about 4 days after surgery her dr said the same thing. But everyones different u never know.

It's very common to run a low grade temp post op, but as the others have said, keep an eye on it and call the doc if it continues or gets higher. Get in as much Fluid as you can...

You probably need to drink more Water and do deep breathing exercises. Did u bring your incentive spirometer home from hosp? Either way do them ten times every hour while awake. Also walk around your home.

Just call the office to be on the safe side. They will probably tell you to watch it and call again if it goes above 100 and a half but just make a phone call anyway.

I did. I had an abcess in one of my incisions. Pretty atypical. I would make sure to have at least 64 oz of Water a day, since mild dehydration can cause a temp to go up, too.

Most likely you are fine, but I would suggest you call the office. This early out you never know, and there is no way anyone on the boards can fully know what's best for you. Good luck!

Incentive spirometer helped me!!! I had a low grade temp and couldn't take deep breaths.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
