February Sleevers

I'm set up for February 4th. Seems like forever away. People keep telling me, "oh don't worry". It bugs me cause I'm not worried. What seems to keep popping in my head is, am I doing the right thing.

I would like to here what others are thinking, going through.

My Doctors plan is two days preop clear liquid, not 10 like I've been reading on here. Anyone else similar?

Thanks,

Kimo

when everybody came home did you sleep in your bed or on a recliner? I know it's a funny questions but I find the recliner so much easier to get in and out of!

I slept in the recliner for the first week. Now I'm back to my bed and my back thanks me :)

Good luck to all of you being sleeved this week. I was sleeved yesterday

Good luck to those getting sleeved tomorrow!

Ok y'all!! Its official' date=' today is the day. I cant believe im doing this, but i know its necessary. So many efforts to lose weight in the past, and no maintenance. Im looking forward to a new healthier me, minus the discomfort. Please say a prayer for all of us sleevers today, as im sure we will be doing the same for your entire journey.

I will keep u all posted on whats gng on throughout the eve, if i'm up to it. Surgery is scheduled for 2pm.[/quote']

How'd everything go???

Flying in to Tijuana today and just found out my surgery will be tonight instead of tomorrow. Needless to say I'm in full blown "holy sh*t I can't believe today is the day mode!"

Good luck and safe travels!

Congrats! How are you making out Lex?

You cant sleep on either side? I sit in my chair all day and my back hurts (I do get up and walk circles in the house) so the bed is a nice change. Hope you find comfort soon.

For whatever reason, I can't sleep on either side. It puts a lot of strain on my stomach...I've tried using pillows for support, but the only time it kind of feels ok is if I lay sideways in the recliner.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. I made it to the losers bench! I'm sleeved! Surgery went well...lost 14 lbs on pre OP diet which was the Atkins induction diet. I'm still in hospital until tomorrow hopefully...pain meds and nurses are awesome...the breathing spirometor(sp) is a big help. Still pretty nauseous when I get up to walk but it helps Sooooooooo much with the gas pains which have been the worse....looking forward to talking to my surgeon this morning and will keep u all posted...only have been able to eat ice chips so far and honestly that's all I have wanted....love u all and good luck to the remaining Feb sleevers...we have seats open on the loosers bench!

So glad everything went well for you!!

I gave up and went to the recliner. Either way I'm averaging about 3-4 hours of sleep at a time. I can't get comfortable at all. I drink water and I feel as the water goes down the gas comes up so they pass each other and it's very uncomfortable. I can only have jello, water, broth, and Popsicles until I see the doctor again on the 28th. I'm using a binder for the pain and that helps but when I take it off boy does my right incision hurt.

:( maybe in a few days you will be able to?

I did lay on my right side last night but I had to already be laying and then just flip to back and then to right

I slept on my left side last night for the first time and felt like crying because it felt so good to get off of my back! Ahhhhh. Progress. I feel better every single day!

I'm sure sick of sweet things though. Protein, pudding, yogurt, and icky cream soups that are thick and just gross. Can't wait to eat some meat or fish!
Good luck to all of you being sleeved this week. I was sleeved yesterday
