  1. Just realized I did something without even thinking about it. I bent over while standing and tied my shoes. No aches, no huffing and puffing, no problem!! I wouldn't have been able to do that 50 lbs ago. Talk about an NSV!!!

    Fitbit vs Jawbone Up

Which do you all prefer? I'm interested in buying one. Please comment.
  3. Finally I hit my first personal goal. I now weigh 211. Next goal 200!! Only 11 lbs away.
  4. I made it through one hour of Zumba and one hour of belly dancing. Woo Hoo!! NSV moment!!
  5. Do you see a difference? Ignore my cheesy smile in the first pic. LOL! I took a body shot today as I was trying on clothes. I think I would be smaller on top if it wasn't for my big boobs.
  6. Sleeved on 2/19. Finally broke a 3 week stall. Hit 215 today. Starting weight 261. Surgery weight 251. Current weight 215. Want to be under 200 for my 6 month post op in August.
  7. What are you doing? I was sleeved a day before you and started at 251 and I'm now 217. I want to see more of a loss besides hair loss that is. LOL!
  8. I'm fighting it bad today. I think it's hormonal and the fact that its my birthday and I didn't reach my personal goal of being under 200 is what has me down. I took the day off of work to go do stuff with my hubby and all I really want to do is have a good cry and maybe wallow in my misery. Gonna try to fight it. Sucks when people don't understand why you feel the way you do. Rationally I know I will get to my goal but the emotional part is in the driver's seat today.
  9. I have yet to throw up. Got close one time but haven't yet. I am now experiencing hair loss but I'm not too worried bc I have alot of thick hair so II have some to spare. I finally got out of a stall today and hit 219. I was sleeved on 2/19 so I was thrilled to hit this weight finally. I have my 3 month follow up on Monday. I am going to have to get rid of clothes soon bc they are fitting me too big now. So happy about that. can't wait to hit onederland.

    feb 2013 sleevers weigh in

I was sleeved on 2/19 and I haven't hot 50 lbs yet. I started at 261 and today I finally hit 219. I was stalled. But people say I look thinner and I have been wearing clothes that I haven't been able to fit into for over 2 years. Today I put on a pair of crop pants that I won't be able to wear again. They were literally falling off of me. Slow weight loss is frustrating but it's weight loss and that's what matters. I can't wait until I hit onederland. Oh and I'm short. I'm 5' 1".
  11. Sleeved on 2/19. Weight before surgery 261. Day of surgery 251. Now I weigh 221. Doing good but I hit a stall. Can't wait to get to the 190's.

    Feeling down

Thank God I'm not alone. I was feeling sad about 3 weeks after my surgery. I would start crying for no reason but it went away. Now that I had my 2 month surgiversary I started feeling sad and blue again. Since Sunday I have been sad, mad, and just generally feeling depressed. It has gotten better but I still don't feel like myself.
  14. I'm at my surgeon's for my 2 month follow up after surgery. They were checking my blood pressure which was great 119/78 and they used the small cuff on my arm. They didn't have to get the bid jumbo arm cuff out. Not even the medium one. They took out the little one. Wow!! I'm so excited.
  15. I bought these bottles at Costo and they each hold 24 ounces. Since I splurged and got Sparkeletts water delivery, I figured I better buy something to drink that water with. It has also cut down on the amount of bottled water I was buying. At the end of the day, when I have finished my 3 bottles I know I have met my water intake goal. Doesn't mean I won't drink more water though but at least I will do my minimum intake. I carry them in my little ice chest so I can drink throughout the day since I'm a home health speech therapist and I work out of my car. So far I have finished 2 bottles so that means I only need to drink one more. Yay!!

    My new water system

I have no problems with the straws and I was sleeved on 2/19/13.
  17. So I have been losing weight, have good restriction, and doing good overall. But I kept wondering where was all this energy that's supposed to come with losing weight. Well I hadn't realized that I have been doing more things. This weekend was a prime example. I went to a pet event with my Yorkie so there was a lot of walking, went to the mall, and started cleanings the house. Today I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in months bc I never felt like doing anything, took my dog to training, then went shopping at Costco. I just realized that my energy level is better bc I have been doing things on the weekends when usually I would stay home or if I went out and did one thing I would come right away exhausted. I have gone to several events around San Antonio that have involved physical activity like walking. It's only gonna get better from all here on end.

How long we're you out of work?

I'm a home health speech therapist which means I'm in and out if my car all day. I originally planned to be out 2 weeks but after driving myself to my doctor's two week post op appointment I realized I needed another week off. I probably even should have taken 4 bc my energy level was very low. But the pain was gone by then. I do alot of bending and sitting on the floor and carrying kids so that's why I needed 3 weeks off.

    Pre-op diet and diet coke

I quit cold turkey the day before surgery. I really haven't been tempted other than wanting something besides water to drink. I don't honk I had withdrawal symptoms but if I did the pain of the surgery covered that up. I was sleeved on 2/19 and I haven't had a Diet Coke since 2/18. So quitting cold turkey worked for me. Granted right before surgery I weaned myself from the Diet Coke. I went from drinking 6 or more a day to only drinking 1. So that also helped as well.
  20. I start pre-op diet on Monday. I have to have 2 Protein drinks a day and one small meal. Drink lots of Water. I am caffeine addicted specifically diet coke. I'm going to give it up for sure once I get sleeved. I can't quit right now bc with my sleep apnea I need a boost to get through the day. I'm going to try to drink only one a day on my pre-op diet. Not the best but I can't suffer withdrawal symptoms right now. I have to work since I'm already gonna take two weeks off for the surgery. My question is how did you all handle your own soda addiction? Please don't reprimand me that I should have quit drinking soda a long time ago. I will when I get sleeved bc I will be home and if I go through withdrawal at least I'm not working.
  21. I bought Fage Greek yogurt 0% fat and I mixed in sugar free Torani chocolate syrup. It was pretty good. Still had a little aftertaste but I think if I add some Stevia drops it will completely remove that. Gonna make caramel yogurt next with Torani sugar free syrup.

  24. I hit 229.2 today. Granted it's the low 220's but I haven't seen that weight since I got married almost 4 years ago and that was after doing Jenny Craig for several months. Woo Hoo!!!
