What are your thoughts about salad? I am craving one! But not sure if I Gould eat one or not. I'm 5 almost 6 weeks post op. how long did you wait?

A bit of salad is fine. Make sure to add eggs, chicken, cheese. Or some other Protein.< /p>

I started having salad at about 6 weeks out, I am actually having one as I read your post! Ha! Just be careful of the dressing you put on it. Some of the really creamy or oily ones may not agree with you too well if you have a sensitive stomach after surgery And adding in some Protein is a good idea as well!

I started eating salads 2 weeks out. I always eat the Protein, tuna or grilled chicken, before I start the salad. You don't want to get full before you get your protein in.

I was told no salad or raw vegetables until 2 months after surgery. What did your doctor/NUT recommend? Go with that!

I love salad, but unfortunately at 6 months out it sits in my stomach like a rock and I can't tolerate it.

Except for some fruit, my surgeon and nutritionist said no raw foods for 3 months. They are hard to digest and you don't want to cause issues since you are still healing. 5-6 weeks is too soon IMO.

Thanks guys! My dietitian said no sooner than 4 weeks and to try it when ready! But it looks like I am going to wait. Better safe than sorry
