  2. You kind of scare me. LOL Congrats on the preemie.
  3. This is at home, but I tell my son it has broccoli in it, no matter what it is, and he doesn't touch it. It's nice to have this limited time in his life where I can trick him like that.

I didn't have a pump- I was given morphine through an IV when I requested it. Morphine sucks- made me itch. Usually they give dilaudid but there was a shortage at the time of my surgery. When I got home they gave me percoset, which in my opinion, is the best medication ever. Truly a "happy pill". LOL
  5. You are too cute! Congrats on all your successes! I hope the best is yet to come for you!

What is a binge to you? And what are you bingeing on? More detail, please!
  7. Um, no, don't drop your calories. You may be eating too little, although for how far out you are, it seems about right. Dropping them to 500 will seriously f- up your metabolism, not to mention it's not healthy. I eat 1000-1200 calories a day and I am losing.
  8. Good for you! Great work! My surgeon didn't tell me a certain calorie amount, but the NUT gave me something that said once I was able to eat anything that I could/should go for 1200 per day. I have been going between 1000-1200, and the weight is still coming off. So, I am so there with you!!!!
  9. Interesting. Avocadoes are a superfood. I also wonder how much it has to do with just bumping up calories a bit using avocado...I bumped my calories up to 1200/day and I broke a stall- over 4 lbs in a week lost.
  10. It should get better. I am 4.5 months out and things are tasting pretty much the same as before surgery. It's nice.
  11. You're obsessed with this topic! LOL Don't worry, most of us post opers have a load on our minds most of the time, so I suppose it's normal!!!
  12. I didn't need one, but that doesn't mean everyone doesn't. If you think it will help, go for it.
  13. The protein in the oatmeal is probably whey protein, which isn't the same as dense protein like chicken or fish or beef. Do you like hamburgers? Try a hamburger patty or a veggie burger. Tofu would be good too if you like that.
  14. Oatmeal is probably a slider, which is why you didn't feel any restriction. How are you doing with denser Protein? If you are on soft foods, try eggs or some tuna or chicken salad. It's the dense protein that gives you the biggest feeling of restriction. -Kendra
  15. Yes, any healthy diet is going to include fruits and vegetables, including after surgery. Usually, though, you won't be eating any salads or fruit until a couple months out or according to your surgeon's guidelines.
