Does This Taste Funny?

blogs/blog-0288149001361073566.jpgIt's been 7 weeks and my taste buds have been outta whack ever since surgery.

Today I noticed that things are getting back to normal. Up until today every flavor had to be very intense or it was bland.

I was mixing my Crystal Light 3 packs to a gallon, instead of the normal 2. But today, it just tasted too sweet and I had to water it down.

When I went out to eat tonight, I noticed the subtle flavors of my food - it actually tasted good. Normally I just bury it in salsa for the intense taste of salsa, what's under it didn't really matter.

So I think things are getting back to normal.

And one else experience something similar with flavors, smell, or touch?

I found that Iike things much more spicier than before. Also diet Snapples are to darn sweet, I have to cut them with water by half! Crystal light too. Used to make that a little sweeter than normal now I find myself cutting that also. I have also taken up salt which I didn't use much before, so I know I will have to be careful there. Other foods taste pretty much the same. Just glad I can eat almost regular foods now:) Still dying for fresh veggies and a good salad. That will be worth the wait.

I am only a month post op right now but I have noticed this with sugar. Everything sweet is like... too much, and I was a major sweets eater before surgery, probably 80% of my extra weight was put on with sweet junk food.

I cant stand even a little bit of crystal light anymore, I just drink tea or water now. Juice is horrible, even the smell of it grosses me out...

It should get better. I am 4.5 months out and things are tasting pretty much the same as before surgery. It's nice.

I have also experienced this also. I am 8 weeks and haven't had anything that I can say tasted good . I also grilled a lean hamburger patty last week and looked so forward to it but it was also just bland. I wonder why this happens.
