Is this normal? My doctor didn't say anything about doing that' date=' just no food or drink after midnight. I had to drink that stuff last year when I had my colonoscopy, it was very nasty, but I just chugged it down.[/quote']

I don't have to do it either. I'm wondering if I should????

I am scheduled for my sleeve on the 11th. I woke up yesterday morning with congestion and a lot of coughing. I got worried about not being well by my surgery date. My doctor requires 5 days of high protein/low carb diet and then 2 days Clear Liquids. I have already done 1 day of my Protein diet and the doctor's office calls me and wants to change my date till the 18th. I guess it will give me time to get over this cold' date=' but I was ready and now the delay has made me a little depressed. I prayed that if God does not want me to do this, then he will stop it. Is this God stopping it? I really want and need to lose weight desperately.[/quote']

If God wanted to stop it, He would say 'no'.

Maybe there is a reason only He knows that you need to be on the diet longer. Maybe he is protecting it. Maybe your resolve is being tested.

Remember that you are loved as a daughter. He wants to give blessing, and give us what is best...which is sometimes disguised as trial.

Where are you having your surgery? My doctor is very particular about everything. I was on an all liquid diet for two weeks. Absolutely no solids. I have to take a Multivitamin twice a day and a Calcium three times a day. And then do this bowel cleanse the day before the surgery. I so have to shower tonight and tomorrow morning with special soap they gave me. There is so much. But I am noticing on here all doctors have different procedures. Good luck with everything.

@PaperBullets - I am also going through Duke Raleigh. Who are you seeing? I am seeing Dr. Omotosho. I spoke to the nurse today and after my nutrition class, next Monday, they will submit for approval. She seemed to think it would occur quickly but that his next available date is not until the second week of April.

I am scheduled for the 21st. Thank you so much for answering me. It's so great to have this virtual support.

I am scheduled for the 19th. I started the liquid diet today. I imagined it would be a lot worse, but so far so good.

I hope that you are feeling better about it.

Have a great day!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
