Hello ladies!! So I am going out on my first post WLS date this weekend and I am four weeks post op. we are probably going to have some food and of course this guy doesn't know about this surgery. What do you all think I should plan on having. Or should I just do a coffee date?

Help!!

A low key place like Panera where you can get away with ordering Soup? Plus it has a laid back atmosphere... Good for a date.

where are you two going? is it a chain of some sort? because a menu would be helpful in deciding what to order!

I would keep it loose and tell him you have had a stomach thing for the past couple of weeks and would like to keep it light (like soup) if you go out to eat. But make it clear that you are NOT one of those non-eating girls! Ha ha!

If you're up to eating soft foods, go with shrimp or scallops, broiled/no butter. Or it without potato/pasta and just ask for steamed veggies. Less to explain why you're not eating certain things.

I was also thinking Panera because of the Soups. But also if you go somewhere else, perhaps you could order fish and steamed veggies or mashed potatoes. And like someone else suggested, tell them you had a stomach bug or the flu so you're taking it easy

You can be honest and still not tell the whole story. Tell him you had surgery a few weeks ago and just haven't had much of an appitite since. Or that you are a pretty light eater these days (still true... he doesn't need to know why). Whatever you order, take it slow, take small bites and keep the conversation going that way you are not done eating way before he is which would only make him think about you not eating all the more.

If you tell him your sick then he's going to question why you are even going out if you are not feeling well. He surely won't want to catch whatever you have, so he'll probably be thinking about... man, I hope I don't get it. On top of all of that if it's a good date and you have several more soon, how long is this stomach bug going to last? Are you one of these girls that's always sick? Not attractive. If you end up really liking the guy then it's much easier to go further and say... "you know I said I don't eat much these days... well here's why..." Personally I would rather go out with someone that I find out has maybe left out a few details rather than find out she has been lying to me the whole time. But that's my opinion.

He'll only make it an issue if you make it an issue.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
