My surgeon was Dr Garth Davis - The Davis Clinic in Houston. I don't know if you ever saw the tv show Big Medicine. That is where I first saw him and his father they had a show where they took 500lb 600lb patients. He's only 42. Google him he has a really interesting take on how to get the protien in .

He has gone Vegan. Kinda of differant from most bariatric Surgeons. I don't think I could totally do that but I am going to try to do more fruits and veggies he puts pictures of what he eats. What us to get off shakes as quick as possible.I find I have to have something about every three hrs. My can't explain the feeling not sure if it is hunger or just feel like I need to fill my pouch. I am really tired too. It takes so much to get all the Vitamins. Are you on alot? Protien and water!Since I found this site I spend to much time reading posts but it has been helpful. How would you know if you had a leak did anyone really explain that too you? Good talking to you . Your weight loss is great! Its 3 wks for me today . Weight at surgery was 295- I was 177.8 today. Feel pretty good about that. Let me know how you are doing!!

I was sleeved on Dec. 11. During my first week after the suregy I was on liquids only. Then the secon I started pureed food and this week I started introducing soft solids along with liquids and pureed. I felt very weak the first week and I used to get tired very quick. As far as the tolerance to food, I've had no problem. I guess each body is different and we all react different. I have been taking my Vitamins. I thnk the Vitamin D gives me energy.

I had surgery on December 6th, four weeks ago tomorrow - for the first two weeks, I felt like I was dragging my body around like a bag of bones, no energy, naps in the morning and afternoon. I could barely work the second week and had to cancel a bunch of stuff. I felt better the third week because I started soft foods, and now that I am eating "real" solid food, I really feel very energetic! I even went upstairs this morning to tell the kids goodbye when I was leaving for work - normally I yell for them to come tell me goodbye! So, hang in there, I think the fatigue is a common symptom and your relief may be just a week away!

Sleeved 12/20 and feeling ups and down in energy. I was on liquids only for the few days in the hospital and a couple at home. Started adding milk and yogurt quickly. No eating purees.

Trying to get all the liquid in, don't have a Protein goal yet. Meeting on Sunday with NUT. Seeing surgeon on Tuesday. Hoping for some more structure.

Trouble getting all the pills down during the day. I cut them up, but then there are more of them! Each day I try to do a little bit more.

Starting back to work next week - and hoping to have the energy to work my full day (10:30 - 6:00). I'm determined to take it slow and easy!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
