Week 3 And Cant Advance Diet

Recommended Posts

My doctor told me I could try soft foods. I tried whitefish and threw up several times. The next day I tried mashed potatoes with the same result. Right now I can tolerate creamed Soups, yogurt and cottage cheese. I want something new but I am afraid of getting sick. Do you think my stomach isn't ready yet or could there be an issue with more solid foods?

When I got to that stage I still thinned stuff down and it worked. When I finally tried fish last week and its getting easier. Sounds like you are still swollen.

I was on full liquids for 7 weeks after surgery, because I had bad acid reflux when I first advanced to soft foods, at 4 weeks post-op. if food is making you sick, you're obviously not ready for it, and you should definitely listen to your surgeon. There's no need to rush the process....your body will let you know what it needs.

How many weeks are you? When I went to sift foods I started with just 2-3 bites chewed 30 times each.

My surgeon said soft foods were okay, but I am getting sick every time. Tried eggs too, but got pukey again. I am 3 wks out. Is it just that I am not ready or could something be wrong?

It definitely sounds like you are not ready. Stick with liquids or try pureeing what you are trying to eat.

I am 3 weeks out also and I'm going back to full liquids too. I've tried soft for a week and throw up every time. So aggravating!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
