Hey all

Just found out I was approved for my surgery on 1/23. I am so excited and nervous. Having a hard time with the liquid diet. Still hungry most of the time. Can't wait to be on the other side with you post-oper's :)

Quick update. I went into surgery around 11:00. I have been continuously in and out of sleep. I feel much. Better than I thought I would. No throwing up or anything. No pain really, but I feel lots of pressure in my upper stomach area. Mouth and throat are very dry. Just got a wave of nausea. I'll write more later.

Thanks for getting back to me. I also had the lap band but due to complications and pain I had it removed in October 2012. I too had it for 3 years. It was the worst three years of my life. We are around the same age I am 25. I don't yet have a surgery date. Where did you have your surgery done? I'm going through Lancaster general. How are you doing since your surgery?

I had my surgery on 1/9/2013, I feel great no problems keeping things down still on full liquids. In morning I have breakfasts shake, chocolate, vanilla and apricot pineapple. For my snack I make Jello with whey Protein (sugar free) you can get small 4 oz containers. So you get some protein with your Snacks. lunch and dinner I have two Soups I eat. I have lost almost 20lbs, over 1" in my waist and that's just a guess; probably more. Any advice I can give someone is to follow your plan and take it slow.

Do you have a pre-op diet. I don't think surgeon has one but I find out on Wed.

My surgery is in the morning so I am doing the mag citrate right now. I can totally see how you can get dehydrated. Wow!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
