I requested from 11/15 (day before surgery since they required a bowel prep) until 11/30. Today (day 5), I feel like I could go back to work on Monday, but being the Office Manager in addition to my Exec Asst duties, it would require me running around the office quite a bit. just walking 2/3 of a mile right now wears me out, so I asked the dr to clear me to return on 12/3 so I can use next week to get my stamina back to be able to handle days like I was prior to surgery. I've read several posts, and a majority of those I have read suggest at least 2 weeks off to recover.

Much luck to you on your recovery! I hope it's a smooth as mine has been.

I have a desk job as well. Had surgery 10/30 and was back at work 11/8. No problems except sitting up made my incisions ache.

I took 4 weeks off of work, but my job is not sedentary only. I am running around all day, so due to that the surgeon suggested I take 4 weeks and I am glad I did. Everyone is different. See what your surgeon would suggest for you.

I had surgery on 11/1 and went back to work on 11/19, my doct required a minium 2 week healing time. I felt ok after a week, but he wouldnt sign off on my return. The only problem Ive had since going back is being a little sore were I was cut, I have a desk job and sit for long periods of time.

My surgery was on Tues. the 13. I was only going to take the 4 days plus the weekend. I found even though I felt pretty good-I was weak. So I ended up taking the 2nd week off.

My surgery was the 14th and I will be returning back to work on Monday after the Thanksgiving break. I am a teacher and I teach in a behavior unit so I have to restrain daily and run after children a lot. Hopefully running will not be too much of a problem, I will have to leave the restraining up to to aide.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
