I'm making it super easy by staying home by myself :D All my family lives hours away and because of surgery physically and financially it's not a good idea to undertake a major trip right now. I figure I'll spoil myself by getting some deli turkey and maybe make some carb friendly pumpkin pie or something.

I am 2 months out and am having turkey breast, asparagus, and a couple bites of dressing/potatos/pie just for fun! Just hit the 40lbs lost this morning so really don't want to do anything to mess up my progress! Yesterday I had Buffalo Wild Wings with a friend and was shocked that I ate 2 and was full! I used to eat 6-9 plus an entire order of potato wedges! WOW! love my sleeve!

I'm about nine months out, and I plan to sample a little of everything. I'm the one doing all the cooking, so I expect that by the time I'm finished "testing" everything as I go, I'll be full! :)

I am 3 months post op and my goal is to eat a MEAL and not graze all day. :)

Turkey

Some stuffing

Some potatoes

Some green Beans

And no doubt I will keep picking at turkey since we'll be at home and I'm cooking. :)

It'll still be 1/4 of what I would have eaten before!

Solid 40 lbs lost as of today.

I hope to have a little turkey and some potatoes. Oh, and a taste of my mom's homeade Puerto Rican pasteles, which are basically meat patties made with root vegetables.

At first I thought I would just have mashed potatoes or something equivalent in consistency, but I figured out yesterday that the number of dishes we will have is about as many bites as I can eat so I will have a small bite of everything so I don't psyche myself out by 8 pm thinking I didn't get to have a Thanksgiving!

That's my plan, too! I bite if most everything. But I'm staying away from the pies...can't let's self so down that road. :/

To the OP, make sure that your turkey is moist say the thigh meat. Turkey can be dry or drier and you don't want to spoil thanksgiving by getting sick. Put a little gravy on it and enjoy.

Some food for thought: those of us new sleevers, you will have many, many more thanksgivings to enjoy, food included: if you want to stay on track eat small amounts and don't go all gusto on non program foods(pies, stuffing, cakes).

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I'll be 6 months out Sunday and I'll be having 4 oz total of turkey, ham, squash casserole, and a couple bites of my mama's dressing and some mashed sweet potatoes (my dessert). I won't be having the mashed potatoes, yeast rolls, pie, or cupcakes though I am cooking them. I tried out some Boars Head turkey breast and spiral ham last weekend at Harris Teeter and it was the most moist turkey I'd ever tried. All you have to do is heat in a little Water, brown the crust, and ta-da! I'm been craving it now all week! At 5 weeks out, I was eating meat with no issues, just make sure it's juicy like the pp said. Happy Thanksgiving!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
