Another Water Mx Water ?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I am less than a week away from my surgery date and I can't shake one lingering worry about the Water. I know they give bottled Water for us to drink while there....but what I don't get is: won't taking a shower allow our incisions to be open & exposed to the germs (bacteria?) in the water to creep in??

Can someone explain??

Thanks!

Harmoni

I would assume (ASSUME) that there are filters of some level at the Hospital and Hotel. That being said, My Dr. (Lopez) glued the incisions shut. The only 'exposed' was the drain. Another patient with Dr. Garcia did not have the glue. I think it's a good question for your Dr.

I had Garcia staples and took two showers. No problems here.

Mine were glued and I took 2 showers and have had my incisions heal perfectly. My surgeon used a brown stuff on my skin, he said not to scrub it off, it killed bacteria for several days.

Surgeons don't worry about you having showers, but they don't want you sitting in a tub! That's like sitting in a swamp! :)

I just asked someone this exact same question! My sister just had a Tummy Tuck in DR and her doc would not allow her to shower because of the Water and her incisions. She was there for 3 weeks and had to "sponge bathe" and she used bottled water.

Reading thru this forum, it doesn't seem the docs in Mexico mind it...

The difference there is that with a Tummy Tuck, the incision is quite extensive, whereas with laparoscopic cases, the incisions are small... Of course, all of this being said, it is surgeons preferences! And God knows, those are varied! :D

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
