  12. Can I just say that I LOVE THIS TOPIC?? Although, reading this just before bed makes for some interesting dreams.. Thanks Boys. xoxo
  13. Now boys.... It's not the size of the weapon, but the fury of the attack! Loving this thread!
  14. I was sleeved 3 months ago. I had lost 50 lbs preop ( started out last June at 310 lbs). So SW was 260. I have lost 30 lbs post op! My surgeon is really happy with that loss! But it has taken me a month to lose 7 lbs! Everyone is different and lose at different rates. Yes I would love it if I lost more, faster, quicker! But I didn't gain it quickly! So I just have to do what I need to do. And this isn't a sprint!!! This is a marathon! My doc says I am his poster child for this surgery-- because of my attitude. I know I have a good attitude, as lots of people do on this site! Just don't start bearing yourself up! You are fabulous and just like the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady will win this race!
  15. I had to crush pills for 2 weeks. I hated it! but i got thru it! now I use one a day gummy vitamins- delicious! Haha!! Hang in there!
  16. I admit that eating slowly is the difficult thing for me to do!
  17. Bougie is also known as a dilator. Essentially it is a long cylinder they put down your throat through your stomach and into your bowel. It ensures that the top sphincter and the opening from stomach to bowel are not compromised. The surgeon uses the Bouygues to guide him in the stapling.
  18. I am experiencing the same as you!! Big drop in first couple of weeks. Then 3-4 week stall, drop of 5, then 3 week stall, drop of 5. Talked to my doc and he said I was doing fine! Ok! The weight didn't pile on overnight, and it's not coming off that way, either. Everyone is different, and progresses at their own speed. Don't be too hard on yourself-- I am impatient too!!! Just keep doing what you are doing!
  19. You are beautiful!! And so are your children!
  20. I'm with you, Kyllfalcon! I'm 55 and just looking forward to doing it again! Haha!!
  21. Yes you are correct. A patient undergoing a laparoscopic procedure would always be intubated.
  22. I am out 2 months and I still feel hunger. I wake up and my tummy is growling!! But conversely I am not doing a good job at ensuring I eat when I need to!!! Double edge sword!!! Yes I am frustrated and I know I am stalling because I am not eating properly!
  23. I had a catheter just until I had passed the leak test. Once I was allowed to drink, it was removed. Frankly I didn't mind it!! I was able to sleep thru the night!!
  24. Don't despair!! I lost 50 lbs preop, but people didn't start to remark on my weight loss until I had lost 35-40 lbs!! It was disheartening but I KNEW I was doing great. And now I am 6 weeks Postop. Lost 20 lbs the first month and nothing since!! But I am resilient!! It will happen!
