I don't take Calcium supplements. So much of what I eat I the average day is so Calcium rich already.

I mix one of my daily Protein drinks with almond milk. 8oz has 450mg calcium. I also use about 1/2oz of chia seeds a day, jthats another 375mg. 1scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury is 130mg. Any of the cheeses are going to be calcium rich. Most ppl would be surprised how much calcium they get daily.

Well that shows me I (REALLY) need to read the label more closely. I'm almost sure I get as much if not more calcium than my doctor recommends.

Thank you O.T.R.

Just be careful. Consult with your doctor. It really makes a different in M/F and age. Women needs are more than men.

Actually it's the same for both sexes. 1000mg/day till age 50, then 1200mg/day after.

Thank you!!

Most people are under the impression that women need more because of the big osteoporosis campaign with Sally Field.

Probably that....and doctors. More women go to docs than men do. I've been dealing w arthritis since my 20's and was told that females lose bone mass faster than males. But, i'm sure my info is outdated. I thank you for updating me!

Don't you guys get constipated taking that much Calcium? Are you also taking Iron?

I think the Constipation comes from all the Protein and not the Calcium. I take Fiber gummies and Miralax to counter that. In fact, the citrate packaging says that you may have diarrhea if you consume more than the recommended dose. My multi has Iron in it so try and separate taking multi and citrate by a couple hours, if possible.

For me it's def the Calcium, always has been. My pill regime is take something every time I eat, preferably 6 times a day.

What brand fiber gummies do you take? I also take miralax but its not always practical.

Thanks!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
