500mg 3 times per day!

My doc says 1200 - 1800 mgs a day. Depending on the mgs per two or three times a day.

I don't take Calcium supplements. So much of what I eat I the average day is so calcium rich already.

I mix one of my daily Protein drinks with almond milk. 8oz has 450mg calcium. I also use about 1/2oz of chia seeds a day, jthats another 375mg. 1scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury is 130mg. Any of the cheeses are going to be calcium rich. Most ppl would be surprised how much calcium they get daily.

Thanks, O.T.R. sleever. I will take a look at my foods and see how much I am getting already.

Well that shows me I (REALLY) need to read the label more closely. I'm almost sure I get as much if not more calcium than my doctor recommends.

Thank you O.T.R.

Just be careful. Consult with your doctor. It really makes a different in M/F and age. Women needs are more than men.

250 mg at 6 a day.

Actually it's the same for both sexes. 1000mg/day till age 50, then 1200mg/day after.

That link might help some.

I'll be darned! I always thought that women needed more. Thanks for the info! Gotta up my hubbies dose.

Nice updated photo!! Look at how handsome you are.

Thank you!!

Most people are under the impression that women need more because of the big osteoporosis campaign with Sally Field.

Probably that....and doctors. More women go to docs than men do. I've been dealing w arthritis since my 20's and was told that females lose bone mass faster than males. But, i'm sure my info is outdated. I thank you for updating me!

Don't you guys get constipated taking that much calcium? Are you also taking iron?

I think the constipation comes from all the protein and not the calcium. I take fiber gummies and miralax to counter that. In fact, the citrate packaging says that you may have diarrhea if you consume more than the recommended dose. My multi has iron in it so try and separate taking multi and citrate by a couple hours, if possible.

For me it's def the calcium, always has been. My pill regime is take something every time I eat, preferably 6 times a day.

What brand fiber gummies do you take? I also take miralax but its not always practical.

Thanks!

I take the vita fusion ight loss gummies. They are 5 calories each and are tasty. I usually order the 90 count on amazon, but there is also the 220 count.
