Food Sweats And Feeling Drink Temp On Skin?

Recommended Posts

Hey all!

So I'm about 32 days post op and I've noticed some really weird things.

First off, whenever I eat real normal food,

I sweat like crazy!

I had a few spoonfuls at a restaurant and had to step outside because I was drenched!

From hair to toes i was feeling moisture and all i was doing was sitting and eating.

It's happened a few times.

Is this a sign of a leak or infection?

Also I was drinking a hot tea and could feel the 'hotness' on my skin outside of my stomach.

I thought it was my mind playing tricks, but then i drank an ice cold Water to test it further, and felt a 'coldness' on my stomach's skin. Through clothing as well.

Am i just being a hypochondriac?

Should I schedule an appointment immediately?

Please Help!

Also, i am a Conversion Patient

so Band to VSG

In case that makes any difference.

Thanks!

That does sound kinda odd. I'd call my doc. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Do you have a fever? I've read on here that fevers always come w leaks, but there's always the exception. So still call your doc.

Also, is there any chance you are in menopause? I'm on my phone so i can't look at your profile.

Best of luck!

I also break out in sweats after I eat food other than liquids. I am past menopause so I know it is not that and am 6 weeks post surgery. Have no idea why. I was also told my face flushes during this. I see my doc Friday and will ask him about this. Other than that I feel great and have lost a total of 40.2 lbs!!

When I have a hot drink it is weird, like I feel it spread from my stomach to all over. But I only feel it with warm liquid. I am 7 weeks post now, so I don't give it too much thought. I also swear I have seen people talk about that before too.

Saw my doc and he said he wasn't sure why this was happening. The nut however said it is normal!! Wish those two would get on the same page, lol

This happens to me as well, especially when drinking hot apple cider.

I get food sweats when I eat too much or too fast.

Not common- but happens once/week or so.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
