I just went for my final pre op appt, and these words from the doc are stuck in my head. "IF YOU CHEAT DURING YOUR PRE-OP DIET, WE MAY HAVE TO OPEN YOU UP RATHER THAN DOING IT LAPAROSCOPIC." That is enough for me. You can do this. I hear the first two days are the hardest. Your in this for the long haul baby! GOOD LUCK!

You have to learn the difference between head hungry and actual hunger... I found the more water/liquid I drank, the less actual hunger I felt... I cheated once or twice... I had some pizza a couple of days prior to my surgery. but it's about moderation. It's about starting right back at it when you cheat...

I also hated the pre-op diet and I thought I was hungry all the time. I just kept remembering my Drs. words "if you cheat on the pre-op diet you may have a more painful recovery because of gas" also if you cheat your liver may be too large to operate....which would really suck if you were all prepared for your surgery and then they would no do it.

Just keep these things in mind and it will all be worth it in the end. I am 18 days post-op and have lost 25 lbs. It is an awesome feeling!

I am just over 2 months post-op and by far the hardest part of this journey for me to date was the pre-op diet. I hated everyday of it and kept thinking, if I can't stick to this how am I going to change my life once I have the sleeve???

Another sleever told me that pre-op was like a train traveling at 90 MPH, one "mistake" takes you so far off course and is a terrible accident. Post-op is like a train traveling at 5-10MPH, the mistakes are so small that a tiny adjustment and you are back on track.

Don't worry, it gets much better, I promise!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
