How can you put so many Water in yourself? I am drinking already for an hour and just finish 1 bottle 20oz of water and feel like balloon with water inside.....

Day 1 check in. I have had my Protein Drink this am and am just waiting to start my gallon of Water for the day. This is a great start for everyone. Today I plan on all liquids like Protein Shakes and El Pollo Loco's chicken Tortilla broth! It is so yummy.

LilMissDiva, I have a question for you. Do you think that this will help shrink our stomach's also? I know my stomach can hold more now than a month a go and would love to have it shrink some. :)

Getting Water in almost seems impossible for the first several months after surgery. I am over a year out now and I can definitely consume Water much easier now. I am on about glass #7 for today and it's only 2:45 PM. Got about 3-4 more glasses to go, LOL :)

I am only 3 weeks post op so I hope I would be able to drink more and more. but for now I am only able to get the max 32 oz per day but usually 20oz of water.

Oh yes Scorpio, in the beginning it is really hard to take in Water. You are doing well for as early out as you are, I just assumed you were further out lol!

I can't believe how good I am doing despite temptation EVERYWHERE! I also have myfitnesspal if anyone wants to add me: curvaceous76 :)

Well, imo our stomachs are already very small. I think as long as we're putting Protein first then a few bites of this and that it will fill us. I try not to concern my brain with that too much because as it is I can't eat enough to even keep up with my workouts.. lol :) Once I reached around 8 mos out I began to eat "normal" sized portions. Any less and I just don't think my body would like it!

So, day 2 and yeah I'm eating more carbs than I should. I do have a headache though and I was able to get in just over 100 Oz of Water yesterday and so far today I've gotten in almost 70 Oz! It's only 10:30 am. I do like to get all my fluids in by early afternoon because I'll go to the bathroom too much in my sleep otherwise.

Other than that I'm doing rather good. I've been getting my workouts in big time in the last few days, and that in all honesty was my biggest concern of late.

Good luck everyone!! =D

That is awesome Diva! I got in a good amount of Water yesterday too. Not doing so good today but I know it's because I am out running errands. So far only 44oz so far. My eating is good, no more headache but I am dying for a cookie :/

Workout wise I am going to be starting the 30 day shred again and will be doing that straight through my surgiversary :)

Checkin in for day 3. Sorry guys, I don't know what's going on with me. I had this horrible metal taste in my mouth yesterday and it scared me. I did not feel well at all so I thought it was ketosis. So I decided to eat a little carbs with dinner. I felt a lot better and then I started thinking. "could it be the orange mio drops I put in my Water? " So I started drinking just plan water and it tasted refreshing. But i still have this metal taste in my mouth today. :( I think I might just have to make an appointment with my PCP soon. :) But back on plan for today. Oh I also drank 110 oz of water yesterday. Yayyyyyyyyyy on the water even if it was flavored with mio drops. :) Good luck everyone. :)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
