Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

Recommended Posts

I have 3. I'm day 4 post op and still feel awful! I try to drink but its hard. My mouth is so dry. The gas in my tummy hurts and I feel so nauseated. I have tried Popsicles but I can only suck on it for about 2 minutes. I just sent hubby to the store to buy me sonic ice and sugar free candy. Does anyone else feel like this??

Results of my 3.5 month follow up appt today: Lab work good. Need a tiny bit more Protein. 61 lb weight loss currently. Dr said i look twenty years younger and am doing great. Wants me to drop another 30 lbs by my 4/11/13 appt. Says he knows I can do it. Lol. Well, if anything, it does encourage determination. Also the RN told me that my kidney stone incident on Thanksgiving is common with patients who had surgery and a study is developed trying to see if Calcium is the culprit or too much animal protein possibly.

Hi momof.... I do get in 70-80 grams of Protein vit and bitoin since before surgery just now seeing a lot of hairs fall away, I do badly need a hair cut so maybe that's it or it is really loss... Anyways you mentioned uping protein what do u get in a day? Thanks:) glad your doing so well :)

I would say that in general I'm getting in about 70 grams a day. I have a smoothie at Breakfast which gives me about 30...and I've taken to drinking some light juice at night with some plain protein in it which gives me another 10 before bed (not to mention some extra Fluid which I could use!). And in between my food gives me the rest. An ounce of any meat, fish, poultry is 7 ....as is an egg. And I get in a good 4 ounces or more generally which gets me up to about 70.

If it weren't for the smoothie I'd be back to sucking on the protein. Which I was, but I think I'm better now. I do know that my protein levels in my 3 month labs were low. Like the very lowest end of normal...20....so I do watch my protein now much more. Speaking of which, I'm hungry....SMOOTHIE time!!

Four months and a few days. I never really lost hair before this so i pull hair out in the shower and when i dry it and of course throughout the day its on my clothes. I might chop my hair again to my shoulders. Shorter it is the less the hair clumps will look lol

Same here and I think it's because I've slacked terribly on the Protein and allowed junk. Time to kick it in gear

I'm like that everyday. Since surgery I have to take meds to even go. I never go in my own any more.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
